This is the weekly June '14 PgAL check-in. This is a place for anyone due June 2014 that has suffered a previous pregnancy loss. PgAL is an exciting but scary place so please feel free to share your thoughts, concerns, milestones and vents. Mostly, this check-in is to remind all of us that we are not alone in the journey and to offer support along the way. Check-in is every Saturday.

I'm 20 weeks 5 days

I feel great had our anatomy scan Tuesday and baby had everything it needed and nothing extra. Had it's legs crossed almost the whole time

luckily she got a sex shot at the last minute.
My PGAL moment was yesterday when I fell down the stairs and cried for hours. I only got a scrape and a bruise but I cried for hours because I was worried about baby. Baby started moving right away and has been moving as normal so I know there's nothing wrong. But the thoughts were scary.

23 weeks 5 days...crazy!

I head back to my midwife for my 24 week checkup on Tuesday and another scan on Wed. They want to monitor me monthly now. So this should be a good week of appts to see whats happening.

Otherwise I feel pretty good! Love feeling this little moving and a grooving in there!

Haven't purchased anything in a awhile but am starting to receive hand me downs...so cute! Want to go pick out paint and get cracking on the room.

As for me...FTM here and I swear I will not spoil my boy with everything. Of course I want to give him the world, but I've seen my nephews get everything they ever wanted but still want more. My hubs and i had to work for things we got and I think it made us better. I want to instill that in my little guy.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Last weekend, I got up courage and bought some clothes from Carters; then went to BRU and bought a box of diapers, baby towels and washclothes and also two packs of cloth burpers. I haven't brought them in the house yet but at least they're bought.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Physically I feel good. Emotionally, I've had a pretty shitty week.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I had a regular appointment this week, my OB was happy with my sugars (yay!), heart rate was great, weight was good. On Monday, I have another cervical check. Hoping that I get the good tech who shows me the baby for longer than just checking his heart rate. The one last time was completely by the book, found the heartbeat, measured it and then went right to the cervix measurements. I know that's the point of it, just would like a little peek

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Just scared this week. Any baby awesomeness this week? He's moving like crazy. I can feel it from the outside but as soon as I try to have my husband or 5 year old feel, he stops.

If you are a second, etc time mom, what is something you swear you would never do as a parent but did: I'm a third time mom. I was much much more uptight with things with my first and have been much more lax with my second. Can't wait to see how I am with this one. I think the biggest is that I swore my kids wouldn't watch tv until they were two. That went out the window...

How far along are you? 21w2d

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Trying not to shop too much, but I got my registries done this week. I got a beautiful glider rocker on craigslist for $50!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Feeling pretty well, noticing that I'm getting leg cramps at night, snoring like a truck driver. DH is a light sleeper and breathe right strips are helping. My blood pressure was much much better at my appointment Wednesday.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? After A/S on Wednesday I am feeling at ease, but know at the same time that there are no guarantees.

Any baby awesomeness this week? A/S was beautiful, she is perfect! She is a very flexible little thing, was folded up with her hands and feet over her head. She is also a big fan of peek a boo. Also discovered that she either loves or hates the vacuum, she was super active while was vaccuming and for a while after.

QOTW – If you are a first time mom, what is something you swear you will never do as a parent? I dont have a great answer for this, but as an ER nurse I swear I will never panic and bring my kid to the ER for something goofy without calling my doctor first. I see so many first time parents bring in their kids for non-emergency (threw up twice, diaper rash, "fussy", runny nose) things because they panic and don't know what to do. (I don't mean real emergencies like not breathing, non responsive, lethargic, 2 months or younger with fever, obviously always bring your kid in for stuff that)

Physically- heartburn is now kicking in and it hurts! And still puking. Yuck. Emotionally- great! Had an appointment this week and my OB surprised us with an ultrasound saying it was her gift to us just so we could see the baby again. She's awesome.

Some baby awesomeness just happened..im sitting here with my shirt up a little bit and I can see my belly move when the baby kicks. So crazy, I love it!

Got the courage to buy anything yet? finally, yes at the Gymboree sale last week since DS didn't need anything and I had Gymbucks - just a few dresses but i can't bring myself to cut the tags yet

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share?

all my organs are shoved up into what feels like my ribs...i seriously have a bump above my waistline and another one below (which is almost nothing). Dr suggested a maternity support belt and prenatal yoga...anyone got suggestions for either?

also mad/sad... with the bad weather in the north east here, i haven't been on the bump at all this week. started catching up last night, all these bad things happening -- it hurts my heart so much

@kimmyberly26 I am a huge packers fan since birth, was raised in a packers house. DH on the other hand is a Niners Fan. We have been to a couple of Packers vs Niners games at Lambeau field, a fun time as we got to both see our teams play. This will make things complicted when wanting to buy her some cute baby packers clothes. I think I may have to get a niners outfit as a compromise.

I'm having trouble sleeping but other than that feeling pretty good! My due date for the baby that we miscarried was last week so I'm glad to have made it past that point.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? I bought a used dutailier glider on craigslist that I'm really excited about.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? It's been a rough week emotionally. We found out our beloved dog has stage 5 cancer. I was so excited for him to be a "big brother" to the baby but now we don't know if he'll live that long. On top of that, my SIL has been creating all kinds of family drama that I just don't have the energy to deal with (which is probably for the best). and we found out we owe a HUGE tax bill we weren't expecting.

Physically I'm OK. Some trouble sleeping and the leg cramps have started.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Not really PGAL related but the midwife told me I'm at higher risk of having a breech baby, and thus a c-section, because of my arcuate/ heart shaped uterus. I hope all the effort I'm putting into preparing for a natural delivery (hypnobabies, hiring a doula, planning a water birth) pays off but I know some of it is out of my control.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Love feeling movement! My hands are usually cold and when I put a cold hand on my belly it seems to make him/her kick - I wonder if they can feel temp in there?

Morning!

I'm 21w1d.

Team blue! Will be Baby H forever.

I'm buying all the things... have all the nursery furniture and some clothes. Couldn't help myself!

Feeling ok. Kind of depressed lately but no idea why. It's not pg related, except for hormones if course. I think I'm stressed about work/maternity leave & my sister's wedding. Physically I am feeling great!

The only thing really bugging me is that I haven't really felt the baby move. I think I do every now and then but I'm not sure. Makes me nervous!

I will really try to always let my kids be their own person. Even if I want different for them.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Just bought one outfit from Kohl's yesterday. It was on sale and to cute to pass up.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I have a head cold, so not that great.

. At least my heartburn has gone away with me now taking Zantac.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Lots! Lil man has been moving like crazy and I can finally see him from my belly. That is the most awesome thing in the world. DH has got to feel him kick a couple times, now just have to catch him for DS to feel. He can't wait to feel his baby brother. I think it make it even more real to him.
Plus, on another note we just booked a trip to Disney World this April! DS is so excited and we will be going with my BIL and SIL and their two kids. First family vacation ever with all of us together. It came up last minute but happy everything worked out. I'll be 29-30wks then so hopefully still feeling good. (We did get ins on it just in case I can't fly or leave for any baby reason)

LOL! Ok, so I am a STM and the one thing I saw before I was a mom that grossed me out and I said I would NEVER do was clean a pacifier off with my mouth that dropped on the floor. Now, I am THAT mom. Haha! I haven't had to do it in 3yrs, but I'm sure I'll be in the same situation again with this one and do it. Ahh, the things we do as moms.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? I got a few hand me downs the other day. So I now have a crib and car seat but I don't know if the car seat is still any good.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? It's been a rough week emotionally. My little sister/cousin found out she was pregnant and is due the month after me. She is just turning 18 and has burned every bridge, rope and life preserver we have ever given her. So she will be having a baby with no support, no education, no job and no home. I can't emotionally handle her in my life or I would try and help and my parents have done everything in their power to try and help.

Physically I am sick having trouble breathing because of it. Still have that pain in my side. I talked to the doctor about it again and all they could tell me is that it could be my appendix, gallbladder or muscle stretching out. Also the regular pregnancy stuff and cramping. Weeeeee.... Sorry I'm a big fuss bucket today.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I am feeling pretty good. So happy feeling her move every day. I am having constipation issues, so that's kind of sucky. But otherwise I feel pretty good. I should have called and made my next appt by now, but I have been slacking and forgot yesterday. I need to call on Monday!!

Let’s not get into any heated conversations. We haven't found anything that we said we wouldn't do, but we did do. We both have spent a ton of time with newborns and children, so I think we had a pretty realistic view of what parenting would be like, and so far neither of us has been taken by surprise. We'll see if that continues with 2.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Bought our travel system yesterday! I found it for a really good price w/ a coupon at Kohl's, so that's our first official big baby gear item Also bought some cute clothes on Clearance at Target and the Gap Clearance Outlet this week.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I slipped and fell on the ice hard yesterday, so I was a bit sore all day. And super freaking myself out that something is wrong. Talked to the nurse at my office for reassurance. No bleeding or cramping and I felt him moving all day yesterday, so it eased my mind a bit. Of course, he's really not moving this morning so I'm getting myself worked up again. I may get a cup of coffee just to get him going to give myself some peace! Otherwise, emotionally, the last few weeks on the board have been hard. So many women enduring losses or getting terrible news with anatomy scans. It just breaks my heart. And terrifies me a bit.

Any baby awesomeness this week? He's been more and more active, and I feel him from the outside frequently. However, DH has only felt him a few times. Every time I grab his hand when little dude is kicking, the movement stops. DH (jokingly) thinks he hates him.

Any updates or appointments? My 24 week appointment is Wednesday afternoon. We get to meet another doctor from the group.

We see too many younger kids with nicer tech/electronic toys than we have as adults. I have a friend who's 3 year old has an iPad and iPOD touch. I can't handle it.

Not quite, but getting close. If we didn't have such a terrible ice storm this weekend I would definitely be out there shopping!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally?
I'm feeling pretty good on both fronts. I know I won't feel 100% ok until this baby is in my arms but I'm trying to worry less.

I'm with PP's all the women suffering losses and complications these past couple weeks are making it a little harder to set aside all fear.

I'm finally feeling some regular wiggling! It's amazing, but I can't wait until DH can feel it too.

For some reason I am super against the portable DVD players/iPads on car trips. I have always hated this. So I'm hoping it's something I can stick to. I grew up taking 10 hour trips constantly without them, so I think my kids can too.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? We sent out announcements this week and I still didn't want to bc I'm so afraid something is going to happen. Sorry I have been MIA-- Got a new tablet for the holidays that only allows internet explorer and won't let me to post on here, says no body attached when I try. I have been keeping up with posts just not able to post my self. Anyways, I am back on my old computer for a bit.

How far along are you? 23 weeks 6 days

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? At our 20 week the baby was diagnosed with a level 3 CPAM (a cystic mass in the lung). We have weekly US to track the growth of the cyst because it has started to move the heart, we are very thankful everything else looks great with the baby. We are still pretty hopeful everything will be ok but some days it is really difficult--I dread I mean seriously dread US these days. The cystic growth tends to plateu between now and 28 weeks so I feel a little on eggs shells. Our next US and perinatologist visit is Tuesday along with a regular OB apt. later on that day (double the fun!)

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? The follow up US went great! Baby girl's stomach was measuring normal and they got the last view of the heart that they needed. Such a relief! My next MW appointment is Monday.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? DS has really been embracing the idea that he will be having a little sister. He's talking about how he plans to play with her and what he wants to teach her. I love it! I can't wait to see him as a big brother! :x

I was worried about nipple confusion and my mom hated them and never used them with her kids. Well, it turned out that DS was a crummy sleeper and a generally unhappy baby. He really benefitted from the pacifier. Also, for the record, DS had zero nipple confusion and it was easy to take the paci away at 18 months!

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Doing pretty good. My back is bothering me on and off. Burping, waking up in the middle of the night hot and having to pee. Then can't get back to sleep.
My right outer thigh has started to burn at night. Last night was the worst. Not all the time but when it happens is hurts and is so annoying.
Emotionally doing pretty good.

Next appt end of Feb. just OB check up. Next US is in March. For my low placenta.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Yes finally! Ordered baby girls bedding for the crib, it's pretty shades of purple with neutral tan and brown and a bit of red, great price too at under $100 so that's always good

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I'm feeling good, tired like usual but completely over the cold/flu I had. Baby girl is moving around lots and I felt a kick from the outside the other night, it's just the best feeling ever.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? Just anxiously awaiting my next ultrasound on the 20th to check on the umbilical cord cyst. Hoping it's either resolved or staying small and not causing any problems.

Hi, everyone. I'm not new to the June Bump board, but I am new to this thread. I've been trying to avoid thinking about my loss but as this pregnancy progresses it's easier for me to talk about it. We miscarried Oct 2, 2012 and then had some difficulties getting pregnant again (which probably exacerbated my despair at the loss). But we did! Great question! I thought we'd do no: pacifiers or TV before 2 and only wooden/non-battery operated toys. Failed all 3!! But I will say we still were pretty conservative with TV and toys. Paci was used immediately and still at bed time for our 3yo.
What I won't do is let my child use iphones, ipads, devices, etc. at the dinner table - not at home or at restaurants. I always have a small stash of toys in my bag, crayons, etc. But he does NOT need to zombie out at the table. We have friends whose older children cannot have conversations with adults and it's so rude to me. I was always taught how to converse and be polite with other adults, etc. and even now at 3 my DS loves to be part of the conversations during meal times.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? No and my SIL has been bugging me to make a registry BC she's throwing me a baby shower... I'm still uncomfortable with the idea but it would be rude to say no at this point.

Emotionally I'm a mess. I took the three hour glucose test on Thursday after leaving work early BC I didn't feel well and the lab didn't pick up my blood so I have to do it all over again. I've never been able to keep the stuff down before and it was the first time I didn't throw up drinking the nasty stuff and my veins are really bad so I act like a big baby with stuff like this. Turned out that my urine showed a plus 3 for sugar which the doc said was outrageous. All of my previous urine samples have been good, but I am dreading the finger sticks and food diary and the patronizing meetings with the nutritionist. But if it means my baby will be healthy I will do anything.

I'm scared to log on with all the losses lately, I've been feeling down and seeing other people's tragedies makes it super worse. I feel bad. I've been having a hard time with personal stuff and the pregnancy is a constant worry for me, on Friday I went to work and broke down outside in the parking lot so I drove away and had my husband call out for me. Trying to push all of the really bad thoughts out of my head that I know I shouldn't be thinking...

Thank you so much for doing the check in each week! No more spotting other than that morning. I ended up calling the nurse for other reasons and she said that it was normal and can happen throughout the pregnancy due to hormone changes. Makes me feel a little better, but still bothers my PGAL brain. Appointment on the 20th.

Good! Finally!!

Uneventful on the medical front, so no appointments till March. Uneventful is fine by me.

I'm starting to get more and more excited that I get to have another boy. I was shocked at first because I've been so much sicker and have had acne this time - I thought a very different pregnancy meant a different gender. So it took a minute to adjust to the idea that it was a boy! I'm sooo excited to have another little guy think I'm the center of the universe.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I had some pretty rough cramps for a few days at the start of the week, the doctor wasn't concerned but of course I was panicking every moment. I've been bit more anxious and on edge this week.

Got the courage to buy anything yet? Nothing new since last week but we may be picking her up something today with DD#1. She keeps putting her Fisher-Price Seahorse on my belly when we read books at night so we talked about buying baby sister her own.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Emotionally I have been a roller-coaster with all the recent losses and knowing that you're never safe until your baby is in your arms. Physically, I think I'm having contractions when I start over doing it. They are all in the top of my uterus and sometimes radiate down but do go away when I sit down. The dr. said I can come in whenever I'd like for a cervix check if it starts to work me.

Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I just a doppler check last week and everything was great. I picked up my glucose juice and they even gave me my pre-registration paperwork. This is really starting to get real.

Any baby awesomeness this week? Lots of kicking. I still check on her every once in awhile with the doppler and DD#1uses her stethascope to check on her baby sister too. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We also said that we would never have a DVD player in the car since we survived without one. Well, it turns out that we have one of the rare children that despise the car seat and riding in the car. We can never travel at night because she wakes up crying every hour because she's uncomfortable. After trying different car seats, toys, etc, the 10 minute car ride to and from the sitter's house with constant screaming became too much. It was a miracle once she could be entertained with a DVD player and we could have a peaceful car ride. She does fine without it now but it was a great temporary solution.

I don't think we ever thought that we would give her electronics either. When she was around 10 months, we bought a Kindle for plane ride to the midwest. Between that, toys, books, and tape, it went great. Now she only uses it when she sits on the potty but she has learned so much already and can already spell all her letters on her Dora app.

One thing we did was just make sure that whatever she watched for the first 18 months was educational.

Buy anything: no. I need to buy some clothes. I saved all my DS's but he was a winter baby.

Appointments: had my a/s last week and everything looked normal. I have another fibroid, but it shouldn't affect anything.

PgAl crazy?: I also found out I have an anterior placenta, so that's why I'm not feeling my baby very often. I thought seeing him would make me feel more connected but it hasn't. Seeing him move but not being able to feel it made it feel less real. Does that make any sense?? I've also been having BH contractions since 17 weeks.. I didn't have that until 3rd trimester with DS. So I guess I'm still a nervous wreck. Which I suppose everyone is with all that's happened lately.

QOTW: I said I wouldn't co-sleep.. I did. And I'll do it again! I also said I would let my child eat fast food... I do. He loves chick-fil-a. Sometimes it's all I can get him to eat. You gotta do what works best for you and your family. Screw what anybody else thinks.

PgAl crazy?: I found out at my A/S that my placenta is low so I am stressing about it moving up. My doctor is out of the office and I am not sure if or when they will check it again. I am still a paranoid lady and admit to still checking my underwear every time I go to the bathroom. My heart goes out to the ladies who have suffered losses on this board..

QOTW: I totally agree about raising a child with respect. I want my son to care for others less fortunate and be grateful for what he has. I say this now, but I don't want to be the parent whose child is screaming and throwing a tantrum in the store or restaurant..

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? I'm feeling blah and way to anxious for my apointment today. We had a scare on Thursday. I started bleeding - was sent to L&D because i was also cramping . The Dr found the baby to be perfect but the bleeding was from my uterius it self and wasn't sure why. Luckily the little man wasn't affected and the bleeding stopped so they sent me home on bed rest. I follow up with the OB today.

But on the awesome side - we had an elective US Sat. to help calm our nerves and my little man is getting chunky already. He ways almost 2 pounds and is measuring at gestational age 25 weeks.

How are you feeling physically/emotionally? Any updates or appointments coming up you'd like to share? I feel huge. Feels it my belly has doubled in weight over the past few days. We did the rescan on Thursday and the brain measurement is perfect! Praise God!! She still has a few spots on her heart but the doctor says 95% of the time it is normal and will go away before birth.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? Abigail is a mover and a shaker!! Which is awesome but I am prone to motion sickness and if she decides to do an hour long dance party in there I start feeling sick.

I have been going to the DR every 3 weeks since my BFP...but since I will be going out of town for work by the 3rd week they pushed me back until the 4th week.

Any PgAL crazy you want to add? Any baby awesomeness this week? Baby boy is moving like crazy and I love it!

kimmyberly26 My DD literally cried when we told her it was boy She was mad and asked us why we cannot change it LOL. After a couple of days went by she is now telling everyone that we are having a brother and next time they will get me a sister. HAHA she is so funny because I think we are done!
