3rd Trimester

Popping noise!?

I am a little over 30 weeks and i have had this happen 3 times so far. I will just be sitting there very still and all of the sudden hear a loud "pop" or "clicking" sound from around my belly button. And DD will be moving when it happens. It doesnt hurt but it def freaked me out! It sounded like she broke a bone or something. Any one know what this is???

  • Air movement probably
  • I don't know what this is either but I have this sometimes with my little one- I can feel it more than hear it. It always makes me jump. :)  I keep forgetting to ask my doc, I am sure it is normal (I am now 40 weeks 3 days and it has been happening for a while now to me), but it is always a good idea to ask questions rather than wonder or worry.
  • This happened with my dd. It sounded almost like knuckles popping, only when she would move suddenly. My doc was never concerned.

  • I've gotten it a few times and I think it's my pelvis popping
  • I have it a lot too. I asked my doctor and he said that he's heard of it but didnt know what it was. It's always when she is moving. I googled it and it happens to a lot of people. Every single time it happens I ask my SO if he heard it! At first he thought I was crazy but then he finally heard it.

  • This happened  to me with my 3rd baby - I would feel him moving and hear a click or pop when he moved his leg. My husband even heard it a couple times while the baby was still inside me! When Sam was a newborn I heard the clicking sound 2 or 3 more times when he would stretch out his leg. I am convinced the sound was from his knee or ankle joint popping. In any case, he grew out of it and is now a happy healthy 3 year old...I imagine it is similar to whatever happens when knuckles pop...
