UO Spin off poll: What do you use during that time of the month?

Based on the recent discussion in UO, I find it fascinating that some people have never used tampons before and decided a poll was in order. Also, I am super bored, putting off doing real work, and LO is sleeping.

Tampons only. Ever. Pads are... Bleghaandk. I hated PP because of the pads. I only bled for 2 weeks but it was enough and awful!

I have found it seems more cultural than anything...and this statement has been in no way proven as a fact, just an observation...

I use both pads and tampons. I have a very heavy flow and sometimes tampons can't keep up.

Tampons. However, the first PP period I was scared to god to use a tampon. Actually contemplated forever using Always Infiniti pads.

I use both tampons and pads. Sometimes my flow is slower at night so the tampon is just uncomfortable.

I love that the lurker option is just 'Olga' now. Also, I was looking for a "Tampons because I am a grown ass woman who has sex with penises larger than tampons" option,  a la @amjoy25's post.

80% tampons, 20% pads. I really want to switch to the crunchy versions of those that I'm not allowed to say out loud, but I'm a costco hoarder, so I have a lifetime supply to go through first.

Tampons. Duh.
My mom wouldn't let me use them when I was 13. She was a momma cloth user or regular pads.
I switched at 15 when I started working and paid for them myself.
I also converted her a few years later. She never looked back.

When I was really heavy I would use a tampon and pad, but on a lighter to moderate day I would use the Soft Cup disposables. I felt so much more comfortable and clean.

I just wonder what would happen if Olga ever returned to the board and wanted to join in on a poll.  The inner turmoil would be brutal.

However I'm still morbidly afraid of forgetting and putting 2 in and getting one stuck.
My mom's cousin did that (like to the point her doc had to get it out and she had TSS) and I've never forgotten that story.

I didn't have a period for 5 years while I was on BCP.  The 4 months before we conceived I used tampons, though I really wanted to buy a diva cup- but didn't want to spend the $ when the size I needed would be changing after I had a baby/turned 30.  So.... once my period comes back after I'm done BFing will definitely be giving the diva cup a try :-)

Diva cup. Go ahead and vomit if you somehow think tampons or pads are "cleaner". I've used one for all my periods in the past 5 yrs. considering I've had 3 kids in that time, it's only like 10 maybe.

I'm 70/30 in pads favor. I clot and my flow is all over the place. I could have a nice middle of the road flow, not heavy not light, and the second I use a tampon its either niagra falls or dries up like a desert. I swear to god one actually acted like a cork once.

Tampons hurt me, no matter their size, how I put them in, or the copious amounts of sex I have :P. I still try them on my heaviest days, when I work, but since they always leak...I went for pads.

Need to read UO, I guess since no idea what a diva cup is.

I chose tampons but for most of my cycles they are so heavy. I have to wear both.

I mostly use pads. (infinity pads only though) I used mostly tampons for 8 years, before I went on BC. Once I started the pill it was way more uncomfortable. I don't know why. So, unless I am at the beach, wearing something really fancy, or just feel like it occasionally I wear pads. I feel just as gross either way. Also when I was 18 I lost a tampon up there and it scarred me for life. So, that is also on the back of my mind.

I use pads unless I'm in a bathing suit and then I use a tampon. I had a bunch of biopsies due to irregular cells and wasn't able to use tampons for a few weeks after each one so I just got used to pads. They always felt uncomfortable. I'm afraid to find out what size tampon I will need now. yikes.

And I had to use pads for my first PP period becaus it was like a mothafuckin shark attack. But tampons all day son!

I use a cup (not Diva) and mama cloth for backup/light days. I can't bring myself to use them as straight up pads.

Tampons stopped fitting in my vagina after I had a D&C years ago. I don't know why but they've always stuck out and been uncomfortable since. It's annoying.

I used tampons until after DD was born.  I don't know what happened on her way out, but for some reason now tampons are uncomfortable and I find myself getting a headache after about an hour.

Always Infinity pads FTW!

Tampons, but I also use a panty liner for the first couple days too due to very heavy flow with my PP periods.  Pads, I just can't.  Takes me back to high school.  Maybe pads have come a long way since then, but I don't even care to try.   :-q

Love my Diva Cup. I switched 10 years ago and couldn't bear the thought of tampons or disposable pads at this point. I used mama cloth post partum.

Try it out first. It's not a guarantee that you will have to go up a size. I didn't need to between dd1 and dd2. I bought the next size after dd2 but I wouldn't say it was necessary.

When I have a period I use both, tampons during the day pads at night; but Mirena for the win!!!! No period until it comes out!!!
