Toddler sled worth the $$?

Hello I'm visiting from the 12-24 month board.  DS currently has an infant sled that he has to squeeze into and I was wondering if it's worth getting a wooden toddler sled like this one? Could he use it next winter? He will be 28 months in December. Do toddlers at this age use these sleds?

My kids (2 and 4) use a normal sled I picked up at the store last winter.

Thank you everyone!  It would be great to use now, but I would hate to buy it if he won't need that type next year.  Thanks!
