Who's doing BLW?

I'm spinning off of Brit1983's post.
Who's planning on BLW? I'm all for this way of feeding, and I'm planning on just winging it, without the book. I'm also planning on skipping the cereals, I never under stood them anyways. Does any one have tips or anything on BLW?
I know there is a site with lots of info, that's what I'm planning on going off of.

  • actually a toddler.child choosing to ONLY eat mac and cheese, chicken nuggets, et al is because they are being controlling little insane people.  it's developmental to control the shit out of their food,  it's not because of how they were fed as babies.

  • IMHO, how you feed your kid is a parenting decision, not a medical one. I've never asked my peds opinion on the subject nor do I want their opinion. Our old ped asked at the 9 month appt how eating was going and I was honest. I never got any push back.
I agree, I never bother to talk to my pedi about non-medical things unless I just want his opinion, which I usually don't.  That said, I sort of halfway did BLW w/ DS1.  I made some baby food and bought some baby food and chopped up whatever we were having to let him feed himself while we ate. I never gave him meat baby food, those gross me out, I just chopped our meat for him.  I sent the squeezy pouches with him to daycare because they were just easier then later on I sent little containers of cut up whatever. So I guess I just sort of did my own thing.  :)
My big boy is bounding towards 4! Baby brother coming in October!

  • In @frizzydizzy's defense, she also asked who was doing it, not just for info. Have we had a poll yet? Maybe, but I don't remember what the stats were for the board. BLW is pretty favored on this board, but maybe it's just more talked about, especially by those for who it's more of a novel idea.
  • I'm planning to do it, my pedi mentioned at my last appt I could start cereal at 4 months and was surprised when I said no thanks. We are going in for our 4 month appt in a few weeks, explaining BLW should make for an interesting discussion ;-) I'm actually thinking about bringing the BLW cookbook with me, he's pretty open to learning new things.
