WHAT THE WHAT?!?!?

So after reading all this about 4MW and when to unswaddle and suchI got to thinking.....I decided to try and put Kaylee down in her pnp for the night unswaddled and it worked!!!! She's asleep!!!! For now.....here's hoping I get more than 3 hours in a row!!!!

Spoke too soon. She's been up twice already and it's only been an hour. Back to the swaddle me we go

We had a similar scenario about a month or so ago. We tried to unswaddle her and she did ok for a couple nights then had several nights of multiple wake ups when she had always been sttn. We went back to the swaddle and haven't had any issues!

I won't stop swaddling til she learns to roll back to belly. Once she can do that, I'll start to lay her down on her belly to sleep.

I've done the same with my older two. Once they can roll to their belly, they are gonna end up there anyway.

With DD1 there was no issue at all with her sleep when we stopped swaddling. With this LO it took a few nights of weaning her off of it. Now she sleeps great like she had been doing. Not as scary as I thought.

I have considered this. DD isn't a huge fan of being on her tummy. She can roll from her back to her tummy, but not from her tummy to her back. I am praying she doesn't start rolling over in her sleep because I can only imagine the hell of rolling her back 20 times a night.

I read this post before bed and she kept fighting the swaddle all night so around 3 am I was inspired and unswaddled her and let her sleep in bed with us. It was hilarious! Total momma fail, she was like an octopus on speed, arms and legs kicking everywhere, like crazy!

I kept thinking she would chill out with time but nope - had to reswaddle her 45 mins later. We have also tried 1 arm out of swaddle with limited success. She's not rolling so I'm thinking we will continue swaddling for a long time. I really wish she could fall asleep unswaddled, she won't even sleep in my arms without a swaddle anymore :-(

Well, swaddled she still ended up waking up a lot and in the bed with me. I put her back in the pnp this morning and within 5 mins she rolled onto her belly. Guess we are going cold turkey after all. :-/
