Cloth Diapering

rough night

I feel like many of you an relate and will commiserate in my misery by drinking all the coffee.

Jo is just over 3 months, but started teething at 2.5 months. She usually gets up at night every three hours. Lately it has been every two to eat. And sometimes she just wakes up screaming, I'm guessing because of the teeth. We broke down and gave her tylenol last night after a debate on trying to figure out how much. (We do have the amber necklace).

And now my over night solution for diapers isn't working. double stuffed h2 Kawaii pockets. I'm nt sure if I need to add more absorbency or maybe try a higher rise...She peed through 2 diapers last night and her jammies were slightly wet.

Dh wonders why he doesn't get laid. He is gone for work during the week and when he is home, he still gets sleep. I''m just saying 2 hours of stretches of sleep don't make me romantic...

  • Right now microfiber since that's what I have. It's on my list for Feb to order I think bamboo blends from Alva but they are closed.

    But I just had an idea. Superstash.net...

    @Mandmeesh, how do you survive?

  • We have a memory foam bed which I heard is a big no no for bed sharing. plus all 3 of us tend to be dreamers and thrash in our sleep. Dh has even "woken" up, grabbed my jaw and muttered something. I had to stay calm and get him to let go and roll back over.

  • Do you have any prefolds? I would guess you might be getting compression leaks with the MF. Prefolds would help that.

  • I don't, but I can get some fairly easily. I do have some organic flip inserts that I could try tonight in the mean time. I haven't had problems with the microfiber for a few weeks, but she's starting to wiggle more in her sleep...

  • and also, the increased eating will also increase peeing.  so, most likely she's peeing more too

  • That was my guess, cause she soaked both last night. But I'm willing to try different things cause what's the worst I have to lose at this point? More laundry?

  • I'm not opposed, but I am trying to keep it simple for when I am gone. Usually on the weekends I'm gone I have all the diapers washed and stuffed so Dh or MIL can grab and go. This summer I will be gone for 2 weeks and they will be in charge of laundry as well. At that point they may just choose to do disposables....

    Ahh I see.  Don't feel bad about using disposables.  I know I would be tempted to turn to them if DH or someone else was in charge of diapering because I'm such a control freak of my wash routine.

  • I currently (knock on wood) have the wash routine down. It would be easy to follow. More than likely they would forget to do laundry. Or not stuff the pockets...

    Ugh I'm going to dread those two weeks. My house is going to smell like shit...

    I've already bought some disposables for DD for when I go into labor because of this. And I've given DH instructions to make sure the diapers make it into the washer before we leave for the hospital so I can get them started and leave written instructions for my mom to follow for that load. I know it would only be one additional laundry day I would probably be missing, but I don't want my mom or MIL trying to "help"....
