@debikae@SaraGlas20@Istrejcek I'm from the Chicago area too! I'm in Buffalo Grove... where are you all?! My Feb12 BMB didn't have ANYONE in Chicago, or anywhere near it, so excited to find a few here!
Where do you live now? What do you like or not like about it? DH and I live about 30 miles north of Charlotte, NC. We like it and don't like it for the same reason - there is some distance from family. Don't get me wrong, we love our families - but they can be a little crazy at times. Lol.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in two main places. Texas for the first 9 years or so, then Florida until I was 22.
Where have you lived over the years? Florida Texas North Carolina

Looks like I'm the lone Atlantan here on the board! Been in the city since 2003 (right after I graduated from UGA).
I love a lot about the city - the culture, the food, the proximity to the beach and mountains, the seasons (but don't get me started on last week's snow...)
Born and raised in Las Vegas, NV, moved to a small town in North GA as a teen, then to Athens, GA for school, then Auburn, AL for a crazy summer with my BFF, and then to Atlanta, where I've been ever since.
Born in Margate, Florida then moved to SE Indiana where the rest of my family lives. We're about an hour south of Indy, hour north of Louisville, and an hour west of Cincy. Small town life at its finest, but DH and I will never move.
Only other place I lived was Bloomington, Indiana for college. Loved every minute of it and go back all the time for games, tailgates, etc... But I wouldn't live there as an "adult."
Gottaluvpip not true. I'm a San Diegan at least until June!
I don't know...i've touched foot in every state in the US (except AK, which is somewhere I would love to go!); lived in europe, asia, canada...so uh yea, military fam...and I will never leave SD! Yes, the cost of living is more here, but the income is higher than any city i've lived/worked in. Where else can you live in a hour radius of beaches, mountains, cities, deserts? Its the outdoor-ist dream! Plus, the microbreweries here are plentiful and have the best beer ever!
Stinks that you leaving!

I was born and raised in Chicago and live in a SW Burb of the city now (about 30 minutes from DT Chicago).
I love the area and all of our family are here. I wish we took advantage of the city more. There are so many wonderful restaurants, museums and activities here.
I like the changing of seasons as well, but this winter has been a bit crazy. Weve had over 70inches of snow since December, about to get another 6 inches tomorrow night, and it will be below zero again for a high towards the end of the week.

I live in Columbus, OH. I desperately want to move.
I'm from Chicago and absolutely love it there.
I've lived in Chicago, Denver, UP Michigan, and Ohio. Denver and Chicago were my favorites.
Can I ask where you lived in Michigan? I'm from the UP!
I lived in Ironwood. It's right on the michigan/Wisconsin border.
@nstark2908 My brother lives in Wakefield, and I have more family in Hurley, WI. I'm in Negaunee! :-)
You gonna come hang with me? Im not creepy or desperate... Well as long as you aren't creepy or desperate I will drive to Charlotte and hang with you. A love of naps and chex mix muddy buddies is required though lol
Carmstr4 we are probably pretty close I can drive to Johnson City in about an hour. If I said what town or neighboring town I lived in anyone could find me its so small.
I'm in Lawrence, Kansas aka Jayhawk country. Grew up on a farm right outside of here. The weather is a little unpredictable around here, glad I got a snow day today because it's snowing like crazy outside. People are really friendly around here and I have so much support from my friends and family which is great!
Where do you live now? San Luis Obispo area, CA and never leaving:) To me, this is paradise. We have the beach, lakes, wine country, its close to the mountains and relatively close to bigger cities like LA and SF, great restaurants and best of all, everyone who lives here lives here because they want to and I think that really gives it a cool vibe.
Where did you grow up? Same
Where have you lived over the years? Lived in Thousand Oaks, CA & Camarilo, CA and even though both are pretty awesome places, we couldn't wait to move back to the central coast, even though DHs family is from TO and so are half of our friends and we miss them like crazy.
Originally from SE Alaska, born and raised. Came to Bellingham, WA (that's Washington STATE) to attend college and met my husband. Currently live just north of Bellingham and will probably never leave!
I grew up in NW Illinois and now I am living in the far western suburbs of Chicago. My husband is finishing up his undergrad at Northern Illinois University
