Yup. It always makes me feel sick. I either add a crystal light packet or I stick to juice. DH is having his tonsils out in a few weeks and they have actually told that while he needs to stay hydrated post-op, he should avoid plain water because its too viscous, goes down too fast, and can make sick. Throwing up immediately after a throat operation is frowned upon. I found the observation interesting, though!
It's not just you. And that's interesting, @Lilygrace48. I've been struggling to get enough water lately because I often feel like I'm going to burp it back up, so maybe I'll have to pick up some juice or crystal light!
Whenever I got sick growing up my parents would NEVER let me have a glass of cold water because the cold is really hard on your stomach. We were allowed to sip it room temperature so it didn't hurt as much. Usually my dad would prepare powdered lemon lime Gatorade (I swear that stuff works miracles) at room temperature (he did this for me when I got my first hangover after my 21st birthday too, love that man). I'd suggest juice not too cold or a crystal lite packet. Or make a whole pitcher of it and don't keep it super cold!
When I had MS, I could only do carbonated water or sprite!
Me too. For the first 18 weeks it was all I could drink and now I just love me some sparkling water! I drink it plain sometimes but mostly I either add lemon wedges or cranberry juice (just a tiny bit to give it flavor). So yummy and I love the bubbles. Also, it seems to make me less sick feeling if I drink with a straw. I have no idea why, but it works.
