Trying to Get Pregnant

Trying not to get test crazy but...

My Husband and I have been trying to conceive since I got off the pill back in October 2013. And, it's easy to say that I have been overexcited the first two months of trying by testing every other day from 9dpo till I get my period . So I figured, that I will just let nature do it's thing and not get a pregnancy test until I actually am late.

However, at about 8dpo I had started to get very mild cramps, and I thought I was expecting my period soon. I looked at my "fertility chart" that I had printed off online, and that day it had said "Implantation day (approx)". I don't usually get cramps a good week before I expect my period, usually I'll get my cramps, then like the next 36 hours I'll start. So, to hear that I still have a good week, and I'm experiencing cramps then, it really made me start to think of possible pregnancy.

Then it gets even stranger, later that day, I suddenly had a strong metallic taste that would not go away. I brought it up to my husband, thinking it might of been the dinner that we had that could of triggered it, however he shook his head and said everything was fine. I even brushed my teeth a few times, and the taste still wouldn't subside!

At 9DPO the metallic taste was still there if not stronger. It was Sunday, and I didn't really have enough time to have breakfast for we were running a bit late. So, normally I would have a rather large glass of milk (sometimes chocolate milk) to hold me over. I LOVE MILK. My Husband is rather blown away that I can easily go through a gallon of milk by myself within a week. That morning, was a different story, I went to drink my milk expecting that sweet taste... what I got was something rather repulsive! It tasted like sour, bitter milk! My body just did NOT want it at all. I thought the milk went bad, that's how awful the taste was. However, the milk was more than fine.

Then I had Oatmeal at the fellowship (they serve breakfast foods during break), and my taste was not only off, but my sense of texture. I enjoy oatmeal! But this was like a watery disgusting slime ball that I was making myself eat. I knew it was more than fine, but I tell ya, it was not fun to eat that small bowl. One of those "swallow it quick"!

I've been kind of out of breath lately as well... Well... more like heart palpitations on top of feeling rather winded/dizzy. Out of the blue, Like taking a shower, suddenly I have the need to sit down. Or going up the stairs takes too much energy out of me...  Even washing the dishes kills me sometimes, whether it's my back or just working in the hot water makes me really hot.

And the smell of Garbage, OH MY.... I swear I can smell that Garbage through out the whole house!

So, I'm asking, has anyone experienced this and found out their pregnant?

  • The symptoms you have sound like the list they give on countdowntopregnancy.com I've had many of those symptoms before but wasn't pregnant. The only tried and true symptom for me was peeing a lot. There are so many factors to consider that the only only only way to know if what you're feeling is pregnancy is to take a test. So take a test fmu tomorrow :)
  • I had virtually all of those symptoms last month (unusual cramping! metallic taste! dizziness! food tastes weird!).  Guess what?  Not pregnant.

Only way to know for sure is to take a test.

  • No one here is magical enough to know if you're pregnant or not; we're people, not pee sticks. All those things could be symptoms of pregnancy, or they could just be symptoms of the 2WW. Go pee on a pregnancy test, only one of those can answer your question. I had hoped that anyone about to embark upon the adventure of parenthood would be smart enough to figure this out for themselves, but apparently I'm too hopeful.

  • Am I the only one who would call a doctor if I was almost passing out from just unloading the dishwasher? I wouldn't leap to 'pregnant!'

You could have peed on at least five tests in the time it took you to write this novel...um...I mean cut and paste this google list of symptoms.  Drink a bunch of Sunny D and pee on your keyboard, maybe then this group of internet strangers could actually tell if you're KTFU or not.
