I don't normally post, just a lurker. But I've been dealing with hair breakage and thinning since my son was born in May 2012. I finally have answers. Apparently some people have a follicle sensitivity to birth control associated with no or low estrogen. I changed my pill back to combo and in a month have an inch of new growth and looking 1000 times healthier and fuller. I was taking Camilla, a progesterone only pill because of breast feeding. I had initially wanted a copper implant, but a folly of errors kept me on the pill. Anyway, I wanted to share because I've been suffering for a year with awful hair. Used to having a big red awesome mane. It took me researching before I could find answers, my ob/gyn simply said women lose fair after pregnancy. I knew something more was wrong. Now I'm on ortho cept and my moods improved also. Eventually want to go to the implant, but not sure of plans for a second yet. It's only been about 5 weeks, so I really hope this is the end of the hair issues.
