Go to a store where you can try then out ahead of time. Obviously trying them now will only be for your comfort and not the baby. I was dead set on a Moby wrap but after reading mixed reviews I wasn't so so. I actually bought one (at 20 weeks) to try and I HATED it. First off its so long that it will be dragging on the floor as you put it on yourself. This basically meant I'd have to wrap myself in it before leaving to go anywhere with baby (store, park, etc). In addition I felt that for it to be comfortable for me, baby would fall out. Or baby would be snug and I'd be miserable. So basically try out different carriers if you can. Also register/purchase multiple carriers. Keep receipts and if baby doesnt like it then you can always return it!
Loved the Moby when he was little (June baby). I probably used it mostly in my home so I could get stuff done while he was content so the heat issue was not a problem.
I loved my Becco when they were beyond the Moby.

I picked up my Girasol ring sling this weekend! It's goooooorgeous. I love it. Also, I was able to get it for $80. LOVE. The pic doesn't do it justice...the pattern is called "Micah's Rainbow"
My SIL made her first baby purchase - a VERY cool mei tai. The brand is Chimparoo and it was super adjustable and they are made from woven wraps. Looked awesome - so that might be something for anyone who is interested in a Mei Tai to take a look at.
@mullenem- love Micah's rainbow! Girasols make great ring slings. And you got a great deal! I'm trying to convince H that I need a new ring sling for this baby
