Intro: 3 under 2 aka my OMG twins...

Hi Ladies! I've been lurking here ever since my first u/s a few weeks ago where my life forever changed.. I had a surprisingly strong ivf cycle 8 months after having my DS and I was blown away that we're having twins (our motivation for getting back on the ivf train so fast was that my amh is literally almost 0). Literally, we are having a hard time processing and not discussing it has helped keep everything theoretical which ultimately has kept me sane. That said, the type A in me is researching triplet strollers because that's what I feel like it will be...3 kids in diapers... I'm calling them my omg twins for many reasons...mostly bc I think of what life is going to be like with so many babies and how I'm going to manage physically and mentally. OMG. Anyway, I have already learned a ton from you ladies and look forward to getting to know you better!

  • It is definitely overwhelming to think about!  My first two were 2u2, and now I will have 4 under 4.5 (DS just turned 2, DD will be 4 in March, twins will be born in May/June).  Crazy for sure, but it does become a new normal!  Congratulations!

  • My AMH was .2% and also having twins!!!
We will have 4u5 or 3u4
  • Congratulations and welcome! H&H 9!! It seems so scary at first but my DS is three and my twins are now ten weeks and honestly twins are almost too easy. I live 14 hours from any family and friends and DH works 48 hours a week but it's been real easy so far :) no surviving here just enjoying every single moment. So it's not all bad :) you don't see many posts about how easy it can be I mostly see how hard it is for some but I have yet to be sleep deprived (tandem nursing saved me there!) or fussy babies, I wear them as I clean my house or make dinner, DS and I will play uno moo or something as I nurse them. Just enjoy being pregnant and then stress over the little things once they arrive :) seriously being a mom to twins is such a huge blessing I'm so thankful every day I hold these little peanuts that I got to be one of the 3%. Congrats again!!

  • Congrats! Going to be crazy fun! If I make term, we'll be 4 u 17 months:) 14 mo old DD and triplet boys in 10 wks or less.
    Good luck to you!
  • Welcome and congrats! DD turns 2 in June and I'm due in May with twins, so not too far off from where you are. We are getting to the testing/tantrum phase with DD, so not looking forward to that with twin newborns. But this is my new reality. It's exciting, scary, crazy, overwhelming, etc.! I was def shocked when we learned we were having twins. It will all be ok! :)
  • No advice on 3, but congrats on your IVF success :) Welcome!

  • Same situation. I have one son (17 months) and twins due May 1. It was quite the shock but now we are getting excited. I was mostly worried that my son would suffer because so much attention will go to the twins but I think every parent feels like that. :)
  • My twins will be 9 weeks old this week and my daughter is 21 months. I was really stressed about having 3U2 but it hasn't been too bad. My twins are thankfully pretty easy going babies. The first 3-4 weeks were rough, but since then things have been going pretty good. My 2 swings have been a lifesaver! They sleep a lot in those during the day but then have no problem sleeping in their crib at night. The hardest adjustment for me was my daughter. She was completely out of sorts for about the 1st month the twins were home. She would have temper tantrums over everything, scream at me, and hit me. Now she loves the babies, enjoys giving them kisses, and playing by them on the play mat. Goodluck!

  • My 1st was 19m when the twins were born. It hasnt been easy and there have been many things that I can't do that other moms can which is hard. But we are getting through over 2 years later! It's quite the ride!

  • 4u4 here, 3 of which are under 2. (2.5 months, 19 months, 3.5). It is a lot if fun, I love it! We literally had no time to process what we were getting into, since we are foster parents (hoping to adopt). We assumed we would get older kids, so picking up twins from the NICU left us in shock. Instead of a triple, I'm getting a double with a seat attachment on the back (I cannot remember the name of it, someone here recommended it). I hate the thought of having a bigger stroller than I absolutely need.

4/11 Started adoption process for 2 siblings through DCF. 10/12 Found out we are licensed! 12/14 Brought 3 week old identical twin girls home from the hospital.  Could be at least until Summer 1015 til we know if they are forever ours
  • Congrats. I also have 3U2. My twins are almost 4 weeks and DD is 18 mo. It hasn't been to bad so far. Life is constant bit otherwise good.
It's a major adjustment but a good one.

If you find out the name of that stroller I'm sure I'm not the only one who would LOVE to know.

  • Thanks! We did severe, severe colic with DD, so hopefully that was in preparation for this! I think the first couple years will be rough for most people here, but very blessed afterwards:) looking forward to 4.3.14!

Apparently you can use just about any stroller and just attach this to the back. It is too darn cold to use it right now so I haven't bought it (plus I am waiting to hear if the girls will be staying with us), but it seems perfect for my crew.  Thankfully my 3.5 year old will happily walk, otherwise I don't know what I would do for a stroller!
