Weaning guilt...

So I completely weaned J about a month ago. This week, J has found any patch of skin he can find and cuddled up to it... it's making me have serious weaning guilt. He even cuddled up to my foot today. Just put his lil cheek right up against my foot and hugged it with one hand and put his other hand's thumb in his mouth. Anyone else's baby do this? Anyone else going through the guilt?

I'm still nursing, so I can't speak to my LO doing it, but I thought I'd offer some guilt advice, since I have weaned 2 other babies. Your LO is probably missing that skin to skin closeness, and given its winter, it's not like there's a lot of skin showing for him to caress. I'd just make an effort to slow down and snuggle with him in the morning when you're getting dressed (in your bra) and at night so he still feels that actual warmth from your body. And, leave the guilt behind...it doesn't change the situation and just makes you feel bad.

I am still nursing and ds does that as well. He will crawl up to my feet and hug them! It might not be a nursing thing but like pp said, a skin thing.

I'm on mobile so I don't know how old J is but could it be a sign of the 6th Wonder Week leap? I nurse M and he likes to rest his head on me and suck on his fingers. I love it! I was sitting in a chair tonight while he was playing on the ground near me. He came over and rested his head on my legs.

Don't feel guilty and just snuggle him up while he is little and offering! We'll miss these moments!

No need to feel guilty. Snuggles will cure that.
