We got our crib on Amazon as part of the spend $250, get a $50 credit promotion. It's the Babyletto Mercer in all white. We chose it because I liked the flat top and the storage underneath (we have zero storage in our house):
We got a dresser using a 20% off coupon from Restoration Hardware Baby & Child. This is the one ridiculously overpriced thing we bought for the nursery, but we're going to use it in our guest room in our new home in a few years, so we'll use it forever. We got the Haylan wide dresser in antique grey mist and bought the hutch for the top of the dresser. We will just put a changing pad on top of the dresser, so this will double as our changing table:
That's pretty much all the furniture we'll buy for the nursery. I'll get floating shelves/closet organization stuff from Ikea and Target, and we'll probably get a bench with storage for under the window, and some curtains/blinds. That's about it!
We got ours from Amazon. It's a Davinci Jenny Lind. I love it. It's so vintage and was very cheap.
This is what we got for #1 and will likely do the same for #2. I love that I had the exact same crib when I was a baby It also doesn't hurt that it's ridiculously cheap. I've seen it as low as $150 and it's a quality crib.
I just bought the nursery furniture last night. Ended up buying it from Amazon.com. As mentioned in a few replies above, there is a $50 promotion when you buy $250 worth of baby furniture. Plus the shipping was free! That saved us over $200!!! The furniture will be here by the end of the month!
I bought my first one online. My older two are 1 year a part so, when my second came along, we had to buy another crib online. But, 7 years later, we used #1's hand-me-down crib for #3 and completely redecorated it. W even carved some nice little designs in it. Now that #4 is on the way, we'll use #2's old crib and probably redecorate that also.
We got ours at BRU. We got the baby cache essentials curved lifetime crib. We just bought DS his own bed set yesterday, so this baby will use the crib set.
We bought our crib and dresser from craigslist. Its a set that originally cost $1500 and we bought both for $250. It is a Pali Italian hardwood crib. The glider also came from craigslist for $75 and I re-upholstered it myself.
There are great deals to be had buying used online. You just have to make sure you look at it thoroughly for quality and safety.
I think it is a waste of money to spend so much money on furniture that is only going to get used for a short period of time. But that's just me.
ODS's crib is Baby's Dream brand which we bought through a local children's furniture boutique. YDS's crib is from target.com. And I recommend a bookcase in a nursery to fill in your blank, OP.
Re: Where did you buy your crib?
Here is the crib/changing table. The crib is 4 in 1 and the changing table will become a nightstand once the crib becomes a twin bed.
