I mean, do you want us all to tell you that you have PID? You've mentioned it a couple of times. Have you bothered to ask your doctor whether you have PID?
She said that it could be PID but there's no specific test for it. That a pelvic exam would help diagnose it but still there's no specific test. We are waiting for my results and she said well go from there
He didn't get tested but he did get treated along with me.
Wait wait wait.
What doctor would treat without testing? That makes no since.
My doctor gave me pills for him to take as well so I wouldn't get reinfected. He didn't need to be tested. It's protocol
Not that I'm not enjoying this but she's right about this one. If there is an active sexual relationship going on they normally go ahead and assume the partner is infected too and treat.
So this might seem like a stupid question, but did your boyfriend/husband/fiance/whatever you call him get tested for and treated for chlamydia at the same time you were going through treatment? Cause if not he could have reinfected you. Maybe I'm over thinking this.
Yes this is a possibility. But having it for 3 years? I doubt it.
you can have it for 3 years even longer. That's why chlamydia at times turns into PID. It's called the silent disease for a reason. And about the porn? Go fuck yourself. Apparently a lot here have a need for drama. That's why I keep hearing mud and troll.
Nope, this is my turf and only I'm aloud to troll my ladies. And your story makes no sense.
It makes sense. You just have no idea what your talking about

bullshit, no it's not protocol to give anything other than an aspirin without a full test
Yes it is protocol during pregnancy. My doctor gave me pills for myself and him so he couldnt reinfect me. If I was single they would have just gave me the pills.
He didn't get tested but he did get treated along with me.

Who does? please, source me.. I'd like a good education so that when I magically discover I've had an STD for the last 5 years that I can get DH medicated all at the same time. Since he had to give my hospital our insurance information AGAIN and he had to register as a separate patient just for a tdap (which is free in VT) and flu shot. I doubt something more serious like Chlamydia would go with out seeing a patient.
No no no. I didn't say that's how it happens all the time, every where. I posted in the very beginning about an STD I didn't know I had (not proud to admit this at all). My OBs office treated MH without seeing him bc there was obviously the active relationship going on.
What she is saying actually makes sense. I have knew someone that had it for 2 years without knowing. She was young though.
OP you have to be young.
Finally someone knows. I am only 20 years old
Age isn't an excuse for ignorance. I'm 22. I was 19 when I got pregnant with my first. I still did my homework about sex and stds and pregnancies before I opened my legs. It's called being responsible. If you can spread them, then you should be able to know what you're getting yourself into. If I ever thought there was a chance I had an std or was pregnant, I walked my ass down to Planned Parenthood and got checked. OP, you're an idiot. Plain and simple. But don't use your age as an excuse. Makes evwryone else our age look horrible.

Being young isn't an excuse. If you're old enough to have an adult sexual relationship you should also be responsible for taking care of your sexual and reproductive health. Planned Parenthood isn't just for abortions, they do women's wellness there too! Or your local free clinic. Didn't you take Health class in high school? Most of the shit they showed us was enough to make me want to keep my legs closed!

I didn't know I had it. After finding out I had it. I starting asking. My ex never accepted he had chlamydia. But the girl he slept with did. I had no idea until now. But thanks everyone for the bullshit drama.
OP, I'm sorry, but you seriously opened the door on this one. I'm not entirely sure what you expected, unless this thread is exactly the point... That being said, and despite my better judgment since this seems rather troll-ish to me, here are some stats from the interwebs. Incidentally OP, a quick google search could have told you all of this as well.
There ARE specific tests for PID - CRP, ESR, WBC count.
25% of men have chlamydia and no symptoms. (It's a little tough to believe that neither your ex nor your fiance were pissing fire this whole time.)
About 70% of women have it with no symptoms.
Once you're treated a follow up exam should be done in 4 weeks. (Again, a little tough to believe your doctor didn't run a follow-up culture, especially considering you're pregnant.)
If you have it for a long time without treatment there are a lot of potential complications. (I'm tired. You should do your own google here.)
You should also google potential complications during pregnancy and read the info yourself. Then you should call your doctor because no one here can give you the answers you're looking for.

OP for future reference: If the person you're having unprotected sex with cheats on you get tested for everything under the sun early and often. At this point it doesn't matter where you picked up the STD it only matters that YOU have it and there could be complications with your unborn child.
One last thing before I go to bed. You're the dumbest dumb I've seen on our BMB in a long time. Good luck with your nasties!

Thank you I have looked up information. Nobody ever had symptoms. I have talked to my doctor. She said there was no need to retest because the treatment works. But I got restested anyway. She said she would look into more info about PID and pregnancy. And she said the only way to check for that is a pelvic exam. She said we would act after getting my results. But she really believes I don't have PID. She makes it seem not serious. I think I'm going to look for a different obgyn

Thats the smartest thing to come out of your mouth this whole time. Please find a new doctor.
I don't usually comment on these threads especially give nursing advice. I do know that STD testing is done as part of the routine testing done in the first trimester and should have been caught then instead of having it for 3 years. It is the most common STD and most women don't have symptoms, but I would think if you have had the infection for 3 years, there would be symptoms at some point. These are questions that you should be asking your OB or midwife. Here is some info about Chlamydia.

Something isn't adding up. I would have a serious conversation with your significant other.
It was caught during my first trimester. But I hadn't been tested before that. I know that was stupid of me. I just never thought I would have this. I got treated but not sure if it went away. I am waiting for my results. I have asked my obgyn

Ok, so you were tested. And now re-tested but waiting on results. That doesn't mean that we'll magically pull your results from our asses and have amazing medical advice for you.
No? I was asking if anyone had experience. It is a common std. That's why I asked to see if other people had gone through it and if there treatment was successful. I wasn't asking anybody that hadn't been through this
ExBF may or may not already have an STD, but sleeps around anyway and at some point gets an STD.
ExBF and Prego have more sex.
Prego contracts STD from ExBF. She does not have annual GYN exams, and has no symptoms... thus does not realize she has an STD.
Prego finds out ExBF is cheating and they break up (~3 years ago)
Prego does not see a GYN for STD testing.
Prego finds a new guy- her FI (fiance... which is what he is when you're engaged). Prego and FI have sex.
Prego may or may not have passed STD she didn't know she had to FI.
Prego gets pregnant, and sees a doctor for the first time in her adult life.
Doctor runs regular tests and finds STD. This is the first time Prego learns of her STD.
Doctor gives Prego meds for herself and FI. Doctor does not schedule additional testing to confirm the meds work. FI is never tested.
Prego and FI take meds, but Prego still has symptoms and asks to be retested for STD.
Doctor retests Prego, but does not do a pelvic exam or offer any additional testing even though it's possible that Prego has PID or some other complication from an untreated STD. It is also possible that FI had the STD, but treatment didn't work on him and Prego was re-infected.... so many possibilities here.
Prego is waiting for results and posting on internet forums looking for people with similar experiences.
Is..... that what is happening here? I feel like I need a color-coded timeline. @-)

Also, scabies happens somewhere in there. Not sure what color that would be on the timeline.
I started having symptoms while pregnant. I think the pregnancy brought them out. Or I just had it long enough I don't know. Blood in urine isn't exactly a symptom of chlamydia but it could be. I started having blood in my urine when I got pregnant. And I still do. That's why I don't know if the treatment worked.

Your "doctor" prescribed YOU medication for your bf/fiancé/baby daddy/husband to take. Pretty sure that's unethical and/or illegal.

I don't know if it's illegal. But that's what was done.
