WWYD

So my mom watched ds today for a few hours and wanted to be helpful, so she unloaded the dishwasher. There was only one problem: the dishes were dirty. My dishwasher is pretty tricky (it makes it seem like the dishes are clean when they are not) and I am a good pre-rinser, so it was tough to tell they were dirty. I have already decided to pull everything that is suspect and wash it just to be sure but a tiny (tiny) part of me wishes I never knew because ugh, such a pain. I am not frustrated with my mom at all because I am so lucky she watches ds, let alone tries to help around the house (I think dh's head would explode if he had to watch ds AND do dishes at the same time). But wwyd? Wash the whole kitchen? Wash suspected items and hope for the best? Pretend it never happened?

  • Re wash it if it looks dirty otherwise don't worry about it.

  • We've done this once too, because I pre-wash everything before it goes in. We just looked at all the tops of the piles, reloaded it if it looked dirty, and forgot about it.

I'd rewash. The thought of eating off of dirty dishes grosses me out.

  • I'd probably wash everything and still be bothered. I'm weird about dishes though. Our dishwasher is currently broken and all the dishes kind of gross me out cause I feel like they can't get clean enough.

  • Pull the suspect items and then forget about it. Will you probably run across a crusty spoon a week from now? Probably. No big deal.

  • My MIL did the same thing while babysitting. DH re washed everything. Including all of our silverware because he really wasn't sure which ones were clean and dirty because we also pre wash pretty well.

  • I would wash everything. I am crazy OCD when it comes to the kitchen due to germs. I will literally switch cooking utensils half way through do that the one that touched raw meat doesn't touch cooked. Drives DH CRAZY.

Hahah this happened to us just like a week or so again. DH unloaded it but they were dirty. He went through the stuff on the tops of each pile (silverware, plates, cups, etc.) but if we couldn't tell we didn't fret.
Same exact thing happened to us and we handled it the same way.
