I know a few people mentioned not doing it in front of other people. Some places, if you have a c/s they make you fart. I know they absolutely make you rip one when you get a colonoscopy. Ugh. LOL!
I just walked past my fiancé (lying on the couch) and stuck my rear out at him while walking hoping he'd reach out and grab it. He sat back in horror and said "Did you just try to fart on me?!!" So I guess maybe our open gassiness has had a slightly negative effect on our intimacy.
...and now he says "I just took some NyQuil, lets see how long we can do it before I pass out" Oh yea baby! (He's sick, not doing the purple drink). So I guess the crop dusting scare didn't do any permanent damage.
So naturally I am mortified of the delivery table pooping myth. Eek! :-SS
Not trying to be snarky or mean, but pooping while pushing isn't a "myth" lol it's fact. Some women may not because their bowels are empty but it happens a lot, they'll probably go over it in your birthing class if you take one.
Im in the same situation you are basically @Mrs Case. I have never and don't plan on ever only because I wish to keep some sort of intimacy within our relationship and he does to fart in front of me though either. And I don't feel like we aren't being our true selves. I wouldn't fart in public or around my friends so why would I choose to around my husband.
I farted infront of my DH a couple months into dating. It was totally an accident but then he let one out too. We have leave the room to do so now, especially him because his are just so much stinker than mine lol.
Im a fatty dumper with the door open conversing with BF. Represeeeent!
But I think her comment about lack of intimacy because you cant fart in front of him is stupid. Everyone is different.
Glad I'm not the only one! I remember the first time I farted in front of my then-BF and can laugh about it. We also don't always close the bathroom door. Who's to say if it makes us more or less intimate? It's just who we are as a couple and we both embrace it.
I am also in this camp but I don't consider it part of our intimacy nor does it add or subtract from our relationship. We just dont even think about it...until it gets smelly then all bets are off!!
This is us too. After DH moved in (bf at the time) with me he accidentally farted one night when we were going to sleep. He apologized when I laughed because he thought I was asleep already. I just laughed again and said we better get used to it you will probably hear me fart while sleeping plenty of times. Ever since then we have been totally open about those things. The bathroom door is usually at least partially open when we go to the bathroom sometimes closed if its number 2 but we aren't really shy about it. He knows I've been constipated a lot since being pregnant and will ask me if I resolved the issue yet haha. I don't think it means we are any more or less intimate than any other relationship but those things just dont bother us.

We are a closed bathroom door couple. And there has NEVER been any intentional passing of gas from either of us. Some things SHOULD be a secret because none of the above is going to help the sexy. Maybe for some couples it won't hurt it either but I just don't want to know - and neither does he.

I'm one of those fart in front of you, poop with the door open wives. I think the lack of intimacy thing depends on why you don't do it. Is it because you're uncomfortable, just don't think it's polite or feel like he'll think less of you? It seems like you've been taught it's just something you don't do. Everyone has an opinion, sometimes good other times it belongs in the trash.
Re: Intimacy Indicator?
However, I regret nothing.
