Has anyone delivered a baby with Microcephaly? Hasn't been a fairytale pregnancy, just one complication after another. One of my twins has a heart defect & now they are concerned that she has Microcephaly because her head cirmcumfurace measures >5%. I'm 31 weeks & they are wanting to deliver by the end of the week because that twin isn't doing very well. I'm nervous, excited, scared.. Every emotion 'in the book' and I'm just looking for advice from parents who have delivered babies with Microcephaly.

Re: Inspiring Microcephaly Stories?

  • My DD has microcephaly..she will be 2 in sept and by just looking at her, you would never be able to tell. However, it has caused Ava(DD) to be developementally delayed. She still is very behind on most milestones but she continues to only progress and we believe that these first few years of life may be worrsiom and full of therapy but she will manage to catch up and if not, we love her to death anyway!...She has the best personality! Always smiling and playing. She is very sweet and affectionate and super comfortable everywhere we take her... Dont be too freaked out over microcephaly, it technically just means small head and this causes different outcomes and ways of life for all different children who have it. Enjoy your babies!..but def set up therapy as soon as possible..it will really help if LO if more effected by this disorder. Msg me anytime if you have any questions at all.
