The couple that is renting our house from us is about to have baby #2. The kids will be 13 months apart. Is there anything that really helped you out when you have 2 really young kids?

I want to get them something that will be really useful. They are having a second boy so they don't need a lot of the usual baby gift stuff.

New activities for the older that mom can pull out in a pinch when all of the "normal" toys just aren't helping to keep toddler occupied.

Diapers of all sizes!

Ask if she has a bouncy seat or somewhere to put baby to spend time with toddler.

Maybe an outing or gift certificate for somewhere to have a mommy date with the toddler?

I would love for someone to gift me a house cleaning! I agree with C&C that diapers are always a safe bet.

Thanks! My girls are 22 months apart, but 13 months sounds crazy to me! I can't imagine what I'd do with essentially 2 babies.

YES to house cleaning. Although in your situation of being the landlord and not knowing them well, that might be weird...hmmm....
There are places that will make and deliver food, so maybe something like that? I never cook anymore and would love it if someone else brought my family a meal.
Diapers, maybe other baby toiletries, a new toy for the toddler, gift card to Target, Starbucks gift card...not too creative but all excellent in this 2u2 mom's opinion.

We are a bit limited on what we can do because we live about an hour away. I'm thinking a restaurant gift certificate is going to be our best bet. I know she's home alone during dinner time because her DH works 2nd shift.
