Cloth Diapering

RaR

My pocket is all wet around the legs and belly.  It's like wicking but on the PUL.  Is this a fit issue?  There doesn't seem to be leg gaps.  I'm n ot sure if it's all of them or just the one that does it sometimes.  My Charlie print also seems to have this problem in the back and we have to change onesies every time we use it.

Re: RaR

  • Hmm, maybe it's a compression leak?
    What are you stuffing with?

  • Have you dried them once on higher heat to seal the PUL?

  • Of all my pockets, I've had the most fit issues with my RaR. I think it's because DS is tall and chunky and I think RaRs fit shorter skinnier kids better.

I do agree with PP that it might be compression related if you are using the MF 6r soaker it probably came with. Esp. Since its around the legs and back.

The insert was pretty wet in the front but I think it would have held more. And it was dry in the back (but this time it leaked in the front).  I have been using the 6r soaker and I don't think my LO could pee through that yet.  He also can't sit yet and wasn't on his belly so I don't think it was a compression leak.

I have put them in the dryer but only on low.  Does everything with PUL need sealed like that?

ETA Unless he could get a compression leak leaning against me nursing?  That's when I noticed it.

No, everything with PUL doesn't need to be sealed like that. Pretty much none of my PUL has ever seen the inside of the dryer.

And yes - you could totally have a compression leak if he's laying on you.

  • I randomly get leaks with my RaR that I don't get with my other diapers, more so with my Charlie print too, but I thought it was just user error or something. And mine always leak out the back...for the longest time I swore it was wicking through the logo on the back. Mine have been through the dryer so its not that. Now you've got me wondering if its the diapers...
  • I can turn the insert around.  It was just very bulky that way!  My guy is also chubby so it could just be the way they are made.  I'll try sealing the PUL and pay more attention for compression leaks, since I did notice it when I switched sides.  I'm not convinced there's not an issue with my Charlie leaking out the back though.
