Cloth Diapering

Cloth diaper diversity

I am trying to create a stash a little at a time until the baby arrives in June. At first as i was totally sold on the pocket diapers and hybrids but have recently felt like having a few of those along with a bunch of covers and flats prefolds might be the way to go, especially for saving money. My question is how much over lap is there? Can i use flats and prefolds as inserts for the pockets/hybrids? can i use the inserts that those come with a regular cover?

Thanks for your help!

Re: Cloth diaper diversity

  • I only stuff with flats and prefolds as after 2 years of diapering, I find microfiber to be just too hard to keep clean and not absorbent enough overall. So, yes, you can absolutely stuff with flats and PFs. They are so versatile.

The opposite, however, is not true. Microfiber inserts from a regular pocket diaper can't be used as an insert in a regular cover. Microfiber will pull moisture away from baby's skin and can cause major skin irritation. : (
