@JESNYC thanks! I am happy how it turned out and had fun making it. :-) I wanted to make something so when he's an adult or whenever he can be like "my mom made this" (I still have my baby blanket my grandma made me and I think it's awesome)
Made some progress yesterday! The glider is put together but we are keeping it downstairs until after my shower bc my mom is insisting I open presents in it. Still need to get a small dresser, lamp, and a few more things for the walls.
I already posted pictures of our nursery, and not much in there is changing, but I'm going to AW C's new room . It's montessori style, so everything is at her level and safe for her if she's up there alone. She loves it so far, though is a little trepidatious about going to sleep on her own up there.
Love all these posts! We finally started on the nursery today and I can't wait to post pics soon! Crib arrives Wednesday and finishing up the paint. Hooray!!
Still lots to do (we will be sharing our 1 bedroom with little girl) but getting there. At least the crib is providing some storage for the time being LOL.
@brideybridg I have a Sam! It's such a great name. He's the only Sam at daycare and people always compliment us on the name Samuel/Sam. Some of his school friends call him Sammy (which I'm not crazy about) but it's really no biggie. Hope your Sam is as cool as mine
The nursery is far from done but i have to share this!!.... We live in a VERY OLD house... built in 1920 and are slowly renovating it all. So when we took down the drop ceiling(yes drop ceiling in a bedroom, my bedroom has it too) the prior family put up we found the most AWFUL wallpaper. I feel awful for the child that had to sleep under that!
@jessicalynn0828 ok I just skimmed the picture the first time and was like "oh man why would she do that to a nursery..." haha. That's like a circus room gone wrong or something! Have you decided what you're going to do with it?
This is the focal point wall where the crib will be, carpeting still has to be put down which is why there's no furniture in there other than previous bedroom furniture. The stars have glitter paint on them and the other three walls are yellow (think classic Winnie the Pooh yellow)
A little more progress...completed pic coming soon lol I just got done hanging the pics and I'm sitting w the lights off so that's why the last pic is dark lol...I just didn't have the energy to get up and turn on the lights!
Almost done! I'm not liking the animals above the changing dresser, so I think I'm going to return those. The recliner was my mom's when I was a kid. It has a distinctive creak that I remember from when she rocked me I'm getting a yellow and pink doily framed that my great grandmother (her namesake) crocheted, and I need to order a monogram for over the crib and then it will finally be done!
@ugabamafans The room looks great and I love the story behind the recliner. I like the birdhouse above the changing table but I kinda get why you want to return the monkey & elephant. Well done!

We will be doing bead board over it, the wallpaper was so dry rotted we would never be able to get it off. I pictured a terrifying circus themed room too! That poor child
I LOVE chevron, but we are going to look back on this decade one day and say "why is everything zig zag and gray??" Hahaha Like 70s avocado green and that orange! Lol please note my whole nursery is gray with a blue accent wall and chevron curtains!!

Also got the starry night humidifier set up. It is so neat! The stars change colors! I know, I'm a nerd... But hey, it's coming together!!
