AF, nursing and crabby baby

I've googled and read through several websites and they all say that only the taste if milk might change during a period, but not the composition or nutritional value. However, AF showed for the first time this morning and dd has bee a total crab since she nursed this morning. Screaming, fidgety, and just generally not content. I know supply can dip, so I've offered to nurse her more often than I normally would , but she doesn't seem to be actually eating more than usual.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Do you just wait it out?

Re: AF, nursing and crabby baby

  • AF can cause dehydration.  If you don't stay properly hydrated, your milk supply may drop a bit during your period, which could cause a cranky baby who isn't getting as much milk as she's used to.
