Obsessed with Hadley

Hi all! I'm mainly a lurker but I need to know the general consensus of the group. Thoughts on Hadley? It kind of goes against what I normally like (classic names) but I really like it. And I'm not pregnant, we are waiting awhile to conceive #2. I've just got the fever!

I like the meaning: Heather meadows. My name is Heather, so I though it would be a nice way to reflect my name without actually using Heather.

Not a fan - it is trendy and ugly IMO. I also don't think it'll age well.

Dislike. Feels like part of the cutesy made up girl name trend, even if it is legit

I think it's pretty, however I feel like it's really trendy and will not age well.  Like you, I prefer classic names.

I like it. But I like it mostly because of Hemingway's first (and best) wife. It was her name, but I think maybe it was her MN?

Eh. It's ok. I don't love it, but it's not anywhere near as bad as Kinley, Brynley, Bryley, Brayley and other assorted "ley" names.

Love it! It was one of our choices with DD and now my cousin used it so if we ever have another girl we will be back to the drawing board.

For me all I think of is this dumpy little town from near where I have family so it's very out for me. Plus the only person I've heard with that name is from True blood and from what I remember she was pretty dumb.

It was indeed Ernest Hemmingway's first wife's middle name, and the name she went by. I do not like it. At all. And I've asked before why on earth it became so popular all of a sudden because I do not understand it. It just suddenly got huge and everywhere and I don't understand the appeal.

Meh, I don't really care for it, but at least it's a real name. It's too trendy sounding for me, plus I think it sounds awful with my nasally Wisconsin accent.

I know a Hadley in her 30's but I believe it was her mother's maiden name, which is the only way it makes sense to me.

Thanks! It seems you either love it or hate it.

And I do agree with whoever said it's too match with DDs name, Audrey.

I don't mind it. I prefer Haley or Harper, but it's perfectly fine. I would never use it on my own child, and I wouldn't get excited about it on another person's kid, but I also wouldn't blink at it. Basically, my reaction to it is pretty much "meh." If you love it, use it.

I love Hadley!! I wouldnt use it ONLY because a friend of mine used it. If she hadn't used it I would definitely consider it.

It's NMS at all. I was disappointed when DH's cousin named her 3rd child this this year.

Since it is related to Heather I wonder if Hadley is gaining in popularity since there were so many of us now naming babies?
