@rk125 this is what my mom told me. She asked me what I needed. I told her onesies for a 6mo old. She said I will only buy her cute clothes and shoes. Now MIL on the other hand well buy whatever I ask for. Just so annoying
So I just wanna say, i met with a new LC tonight and feel much better about bfing and formula and all that jazz. Our current struggles are probably due to a mixture of teething and the chaos of the holidays. Also, she suggested switching to a manual pump to see if i could get more that way. Found one on clearance for $11 so I'll be trying that tomorrow! Anyway, thanks for all of the advice ladies. You are all such strong friends.

Yay! Glad you are feeling more comfortable.
I just wanted to say, that I exclusively use a manual even though I have a very nice electric. I have always gotten more milk with the manual because of the amount of control. I hope you find the same.
I realize it sounds crazy, but everything about my manual is better. I have an Ameda Purely Yours and did use a PISA in the past and I prefer my Medela manual (Harmony? I think?) over either electric. I have more control, stronger suction, I'm not sure it is really "faster" than the others, but I feel like I am better able to empty my breast which means I don't have to pump as often. With the others it felt like I wasn't getting everything.
I can pump about 9 ish ounces in 20 ish minutes. (I know, I'm a freakin' dairy cow.) I pump 2x (sometimes 3 if I'm just hanging at home,) and LO nurses all through the night and occasionally during the day. (We have all kinds of issues related to latch, structure, etc, but none related to supply.)
The manual is also easy to just cram into a diaper bag, take traveling or two work, and you don't have to stay near an outlet or worry about batteries.
I EPed or DD1 for 6 months, so I was pretty familiar with my ability to produce prior to going manual.
I can't bitch today. I just found out I got a bonus and they are allowing me to go back on salary at a reduced hour so I get my paid holidays, vacation and sick time. So today is a good monday for me. And I totally understand if you feel like doing this to me right now:
But since it is bitchfest monday I will add that I am also in the, "I am going to go bald soon" camp and I do this EVERY morning after I look at my brush:
Yea for good news Mondays!! I just found out I got my annual raise today and I'm extremely happy! This has been a good Monday for me as well. *cheers* to you @jessicaivana!
@bellaoso I think I'll have to give it a try. Right now I border getting enough milk for dc the next day with 2 pumps...I have to throw in the 3rd for an extra ounce or two. It sounds like I may be able to eliminate that 3rd one entirely!

I do have a ridiculous supply though. Sometimes I feel like a brat because I will be really negligent about pumping, staying hydrated, etc. but the milk is always there. Maybe that should be my FFFC instead. I'm ashamed of how much I don't take care of my supply, but always have milk.
However I have had just about every other issue under the sun related to breastfeeding... so I guess I get one point in my favor.
I'll be curious to hear if it works better for you or not. Please let me know!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I feel like an epic failure. It's getting worse every night.
I promise it doesn't last forever. I'm right there with you. LO took 2 hours to get down tonight (compared to the 4ish hours it was taking all last week). Today was the first day without being past around like a loaf of bread at the last supper. Just keep repeating to yourself that LO is only this little once. I know it's hard, hang in there!
@bellaoso that's how I feel about my supply also. There were many days where I just forgot to stay hydrated and eat well and no supply issues. Still after almost 3 weeks with no stimulation I pumped 6oz day before yesterday. I have one freezer bag of milk. It's my last one. I'm putting off giving it to her... I don't know why.. I guess maybe that belongs in the random thought thread.
My son thinks his bed is trying to kill him and that he doesnt need to sleep and that spitting at me is fucking adorable. Im over trying to figure out how to get him out of my bed he can have it. Ill take the couch
Just had to add a bitchfest tuesday....dear MIL, yes my baby might be teething and yes we have teething toys. Please do t stick your nasty, long finger nailed smoker hands in her mouth.
ETA Also, I'm glad you used the tv as a babysitter, and your kids turned out "fine". But that's not how I'm going to raise my child. But thanks for the advice.

Happy to answer any questions.

I've been in tears since hour 4.

It can't hurt to give it a shot.

I need to move him to his crib but it's RIGHT across the hall from DS1. One baby up at night I can handle.
I'm not willing to chance having two babies up at night!
