Bellfit Corsett versus C-Section Recovery Kit

I am looking at some options to help with recovering from the C-section. I read that The Bellfit corset and C-section recovery kit are both good options for helping to shrink your uterus and make it easier to move around without disturbing the incision site.

I am hoping for some feedback or recommendations from STMs/TTMs on these or other ones that might be better.

How did they work? When did you start using them? TIA.

Re: Bellfit Corsett versus C-Section Recovery Kit

  • No way in hell would that first one be comfortable or practical after a c/s when you will be wearing huge pads for days/weeks.  Looks like that thing would be a complete PITA.  And I think that csection recovery kit is a total rip off.  WTH do you need a "skin brush" for?  The binder posted above would be sufficient.  I got a Belly Bandit on zulily a couple weeks ago for $26 so I'll be using that this time.  Haven't used one for my previous 2 c/s and not really sure that I will like it.  I know I really didn't want anything tight fitting so I'm not sure how this is gonna go but I have heard that some people really like it so I figured it was worth a shot since it was on sale.

  • My doctor ordered a binder at the hospital that I paid nothing for that worked great. I would ask your dr before spending money.
  • I would hold off on buying anything. I got a band in the hospital. Just ask your nurse. They should be able to get you one.

  • I got a binder at the hospital that they gave me when I got out of bed. Beforehand, I was also concerned with shrinking the uterus, etc but in reality as soon as I stood up I felt this weird "hanging" feeling in my stomach and they out the binder on me and I felt much more normal and like everything was in place. I'm one week post and have only taken it off to shower. I lucked out with two so I can still wear one while the other is laundered.
