  • 1. Why are you on bed rest & what type (modified, strict, hospital...)?
I'm newly on modified best rest after a stay at L&D last weekend.  Sitting on the couch or laying in bed most of the time.  Still having lots of non-painful contractions (on Procardia) with cervical changes.
    2. How are you feeling, physically and emotionally?
Physically I feel great!  Emotionally I'm OK too….just bummed that I can be as interactive/ playing with my DD/DS.  They are 4 and don't get why mommy is not crawling around and playing like usual.
    3. How are you keeping yourself busy/entertained?
Bumping, board games, reading, building Lego sets (with kids), and a little online shopping.  :)
    4. Any new projects you're working on that you'd like to share? Or books, movies, etc.. that you would recommend?
My wonderful DH has been washing loads of LO's clothes and then he brings them to me to fold.  One bonus is everything in our house has been recently washed. :)
QOTW:  What are your New Year's Eve plans?
What would you be doing for New Year's if you weren't on bed rest?
We are going to make homemade fondue (a family NYE tradition) for dinner and then DH and I are going to relax after we put the kids to bed.  Our plans would probably be the same w/o bed rest!  My birthday is tomorrow and the Dr. said DH could take me out to dinner to celebrate.  I am very excited about that!!  Good luck this week ladies.

  • 1. Hospital. I'm allowed to get up to use the bathroom and shower, which is nice.
    2. Physically, I'm okay. Emotionally, I'm still having a hard time knowing that I'm here for the rest of the pregnancy and that they could take him out any day.
    3. DH has been wonderful- once we got the official "you'll be here for quite some time" he brought me a TON of stuff to do. My nook, computer, tons of dvds, knitting, etc.
    4. I'm finishing up knitting a cowl I was working on, and then I'm going to start back up on my sweater- I have no excuse now! I also have something I want to knit for LO that I found in a pattern book, so that'll keep me occupied as well. :)
QOTW: DH is going to stay with me for the night- usually he goes home- and we will watch the ball drop! I think he's going to get some sparkling cider too.

  • @ziggy903 so sorry that you need to be in the hospital until baby comes. I understand how hard it is not knowing when they will need to take the baby out, it's really nerve wracking. *hugs*

It's great that DH is staying with you for New Year's. Our New Year's will be similar, sparkling cider in bed. :)

  • 1. Why are you on bed rest & what type (modified, strict, hospital...)?
    Strict. pre-e/high blood pressure, & cervix shortening/cerclage

    2. How are you feeling, physically and emotionally? Physically..blah. just really uncomfortable and crappy feeling. Emotionally ok, just anxious knowing the boys will be here soon.

    3. How are you keeping yourself busy/entertained? Reading, lots of mindless tv and lots of naps :-P

    4. Any new projects you're working on that you'd like to share? Or books, movies, etc.. that you would recommend?
I watched the entire Six Feet Under series which was awesome. Now onto the third Harry Potter book.

QOTW:  What are your New Year's Eve plans? What would you be doing for New Year's if you weren't on bed rest?
Our plans are to play some board games in bed along with some sparkling juice. If I wasn't on bed rest, I'm sure it would be the same, just out in the living room/kitchen. ;-)

  • New here this week.

    1. Why are you on bed rest & what type (modified, strict, hospital...)?
Strict. Doc is testing me for pre-e and I can't stand without my blood pressure spiking.

    2. How are you feeling, physically and emotionally?
Physically not well. I'm just tired and sore. The swelling won't go away no matter what I do, and it's getting pretty painful. Emotionally nervous! I want my test results back and to know what the next step is.

    3. How are you keeping yourself busy/entertained?
Books. My fiance got me a new kindle for Christmas since my old one broke and it was a blessing in disguise. Netflix is also very useful. My cats are the best at snuggling right now so it helps.

    4. Any new projects you're working on that you'd like to share? Or books, movies, etc.. that you would recommend?
No projects really. I should finish my baby shower thank you cards...And I don't have the patience to knit or anything. :)

QOTW:  What are your New Year's Eve plans?
What would you be doing for New Year's if you weren't on bed rest?
The fiance and I are staying in. Probably watch some movies and make dinner at home.
  • Sorry you have to be here @vestaria14 :-\ hopefully the test results aren't bad news. When do you find out? Hopefully the swelling goes down a little for you, too.

  • @angiev84 thank you :) it's hard, but well make it through. sparkling cider and board games in bed sounds like a perfect NYE to me!!

@dreamingbabies I agree with Angie- get takeout from where you were going to go! DH and I were going to have a last date night, now he'll be bringing it for NYE.
Also, did you go to L&D without asking us first? How is that possible?

  • Hi ladies! Hope you don't mind me joining!

    1. Why are you on bed rest & what type (modified, strict, hospital...)?
Strict...was in the hospital for 4 days and got released yesterday. Woke up today with wet pants (no odor) and thought my water had broken. Second trip to L&D and thankfully it didn't rupture. They think it may have leaked a little and sealed back up at the top? No idea how that works but I am now back on my couch.

    2. How are you feeling, physically and emotionally? Feeling like crap. Still having some contrax especially when I get stressed. Emotionally freaked out and want this Lo to stay put for 2 more weeks in the worst way but every passing hour I doubt it more...

    3. How are you keeping yourself busy/entertained? Well I've been on bedrest for less than 24 hours so we'll see. So far trying to breathe and watch TV

    4. Any new projects you're working on that you'd like to share? Or books, movies, etc.. that you would recommend? Hmm nope not really...if I make it a while longer maybe I will?

QOTW:  What are your New Year's Eve plans?
What would you be doing for New Year's if you weren't on bed rest? Well my parents are coming to TX to visit tomorrow (was already planned) so I wanted to go out for a nice dinner. Now, just trying to stay still. Would still like to set off some fireworks!

Thinking of all of the other mommas on bedrest, hope you're all doing ok!!

  • Hey ladies...I do not post very often lately mainly lurk but I was diagnosed with Pre-Eclampsia last week and am on hospital bed rest with shower and bathroom privileges. Anyway I found this video on youtube for bedrest yoga that has proven to be really helpful.  I hope it helps some of you also.
