@stina2012: yikes! Your brother's situation sounds like my brother's. He has an 18 month old child and has shared custody of her. They were barely dating when she found out she was pregnant and it's been a shit show for the past two years. He has to do a paternity test when she was a new baby. He was very irresponsible up until my niece was born but has really turned a corner for the most part and is a really great dad now. My mom makes excuses for him a lot still which drives me crazy but the situation has been working out better lately than any of us imagined. Good luck to your family!
