Formula feeding question

I have a newborn question but am hoping some of you ladies can still help me. So new DD is having spit up problems and needs to be on spit up formula. This is much thicker and I am having a really hard time finding bottles and nipples that work well with it. I have tried several different kinds and flows and nothing seems to work. Dd is having to suck too hard and getting tired so she isn't eating enough. She is 2 Weeks now and just now back to her birth weight. Anyone have to use thicker formula with their lo and have any suggestions for bottles and nipple flow? Today I tried avent Level 3 and they still are clogging. TIA!

We used Similac for spit up and never had a problem with clogged nipples unless we didn't mix it exactly like the directions. Ours said to mix it and then wait a specified amount of time (I forgot the time) before giving it so the powder could dissolve. We didn't notice this at first and had trouble until I read the fine print! I had just assumed it was like regular formula! Also, if we shook it up in the bottle, we had to pinch the nipple closed or the powder would clog the hole up. We found it better to use a mixer pitcher and then pour it into the bottles.

This is what we use. I am going to go read the package right now and check this out.

  • Don't really have any other suggestions, but I hope everything else is going well. How is it with a toddler and a newborn? I am so scared of having two young ones, but SO want Chloe to have a sibling. I come from four girls.

  • @mrsrek10 I read the directions and it does say to let it sit 2 minutes. Thank you soooo much for pointing that out. I am going to try that next feeding for sure! Hopefully it will solve that problem. @ashleynaka I will be the first to admit to has been difficult to handle both a toddler and newborn. We have good days and bad and sometimes I doubt myself but overall it has been good and I wouldn't change anything. DD definitely has been more difficult then DS was all around. She has a broken collarbone from the delivery, has feeding issues, reflux issues, and just generally more fussy. I wanted my kids close together so I went into this knowing it would be hard for a long time but it is what we wanted.
