Babies: 6 - 9 Months

7 months weird nights

My son, 7 months old has finally started sleeping through the night again (after a very long month) the problem is putting him down... Most times he goes right to sleep but then 45 min to an hour later wakes up and screams his head off... And it takes at least another hour to get him back to bed. We thought it was his teeth at first but we give him teething tabs and Tylenol. Which helps during the day..
Please help... I'm exhausted and frustrated...

Re: 7 months weird nights

  • All these sleeping issues will pass. Could be nightmares. They also start having separation anxiety

  • Have u gone to doc to rule out any illness, ear infection, etc?

  • My daughter has been doing this for a few months. I don't know what it is. Seems like she's having a nightmare but not sure. It doesn't happen every night, but like clockwork, 45 minutes after she first falls asleep, she'll wake up crying like she's scared. Luckily for us it doesn't take 45 minutes. We carry her around the house a bit and do things to capture her attention but that soothe her. For example, she likes looking in the mirror, or watching water come out of the faucet. We keep the lights dim and sing softly to her. She's usually back down after about 10 minutes and puts herself back to sleep. She's perfectly healthy. Maybe try showing him something to capture his attention but that isn't too stimulating so that it gets his mind off of whatever it was that caused him to wake up.
