Not really juicy, but it's dead around here so thought I'd share. https://forums.thebump.com/discussion/12179987/july-2013/p1

  • I dunno. The comment "July 14" was kind of rude. So she hasn't been posting in a few months, so people are all "we don't know you, deal with your sick baby alone"? I feel like our board would've been a bit more helpful and less snarky, and not point out how many months it's been since they last posted.

  • I lurk(ed) pretty frequently on July 2013 because my due date alternated between early July and late June.  I remembered her screen name, and I have a memory like a sieve.  While it was kind of a silly question on her part (searchable on TB and Google), I tend to give a lot of leeway to someone with a sick kid...

This. I understand that people feel that they have established a community and feel it's weird when newbies post asking for advice, but is it really that hard to just help a girl out with an honest question? I mean, I totally get it if people are like "who are you?" when a newbie posts something really controversial on an UO thread or an extremely whiny, "woe is me" thread. But asking for help with a cold? I don't recognize every name that posts on here, and I am sure some people don't recognize me, but if it's an honest question, I try to help out when I can regardless of how often the person posts.

I still think GBCB posts are pointless though. If you don't want to post here anymore, stop posting. You stir up more trouble by announcing it.
