Pessary Anyone for IC???

Hi everyone! I just got back from my ob n she just inserted a ring pessary. I have a short cervix .6, funneling, 1 centimeter dialated, at 21 weeks w twins. It's been a tough couple of weeks, emotionally n physically, but after the ring went in, I felt better..I can feel the reduction of pressure immediately. My doc said she doesn't want to take it out and clean it until after 28 weeks. I am still on bedrest w vaginal progesterone suppositories.....Has anyone else had any experiences with the pessary? Is a fairly new thing here in the states to use w preggos, all research , clinical trials have been in Europe. This was the first time my doctor actually did it for a pregnant mom, it's usually used for a prolapse uterus. Thanks for your responses!!
