I am still confused about when the 3rd trimester starts! I know we have has a bunch of threads about this, but it just got so mathy my eyes glazed over. Point being, I don't even know what trimester I am in!
Ask your OB/MW. It varies from practice to practice. My MW doesn't count it as third tri until the 28th week is over. Others say beginning of 27th week, or end of 27th week. I'm going to say beginning of 27th, just to make myself happier.
OMG, seriously? So according to your MW I have over a month left. UGH. Someone please calm my PgAL brain!
Yep. 5.5 weeks for me. Which is why I'm saying 3.5 weeks for beginning of week 27.
((hugs))
Math says its 27w6d. I'll go with that, it seems to be the middle!
Math says 26w5d I think ... 2/3rds of 40 ... But I don't trust my pregnant brain to do math anymore. I'm going with 27 weeks. And a chocolate bar, at 7am.
I don't trust mine either so... Share the chocolate?
I'm kind of taking a break from the bump while I get through this last week of work, so I would usually have a lot more to say but when I read the OP, I was thinking along the same lines. I was thinking "Um ok, that's nice..."
Usually people are more inclusive, like: who else just hit the third tri, are you excited, we are almost there ladies, etc. At least leaving some kind if room for discussion and participation. That didn't happen. It's like "hey I'm 3rd tri now in case you all wanted to know about me! That is all." So ya, in my head I was just like "ok?"

I can see all views. I mean, when I saw ziggy's first post, I giggled and thought it was funny. And, yes, I can relate to feeling suuuper behind on everything. (We're moving in to a 2-bdrm apt in about a wk, so no nursery done here! Also, we're finding baby registry really overwhelming, so we've attempted to start it up but haven't added one item. Nevermind that we're not signed up for a birthing class yet.) So. Feeling insecure and lacking? Yeah. But ticked at others who have their shit together and are excited? Nah. We all run at different paces, but we will all get to the same place. I do agree with @Tally06 and @Scromlette: I don't think that minute, unspoken "interwebz" rules are fair, reasonable, or the makings of a cohesive, supportive group. Especially if the Fight Club Rules aren't followed by the people who keep preaching them (i.e. "You should label this AW!" "You should label yhis TMI!" "You should be excited," "You should mind your own beeswax"). This is silly. Especially turning to cruel when it becomes "who posts more," "I don't even know who you are, so why are you even posting," and "she doesn't deserve to post anything happy bc we don't know her well." Please. So, # of posts puts a value on you as a member? And if it's not up to the standards of an elite few of women, then the rest of us should just stop trying on this board all together? I feel like we're in that Dr. Seuss book about the Sneetches. Do we all need stars to indicate who is more valuable or accepted? On one last note, I do not believe that @Tally06 was "white knighting." She expressed an opinion. There are 2 or 3 people who could be seen as having "white knighted" for ziggy bc they jumped all over this --- but, again: these are crazy-making "rules"/standards to hold everyone by, and then people end up being hypocrites by breaking their own crazy "rules."
Let's just all post what we want, not take it personally, and support one another. K?
Smh, this post turned into a mess. I'm happy she's in her third tri. We will all get there soon. Why rain on her post with negativity. What was the point?!?
Oh and since someone is worried about seeing a third tri post everyday, just make a big thread for third tri. Goodness, I try to be happy for everyone regardless. We have family that can make us feel loved and not left out. Why worry about a online post that MIGHT make you feel some type of way. People always say "we're not here to make you feel good or bad, it's the internet"
this was the most juvenile discussion ever. I feel sad that random strangers diss people's excitement just because it doesn't apply to them. Who cares if you're a regular. Be kind and move on. Its not about you.
@rebbeca4980 I couldn't have said this any better. So true, I feel bad for the op who posted this. Smh

The last thing we need is another sticky. Especially a 'sign in here when you're in third tri' sticky.
I think the idea of a gif party (by @ Winnieella) is excellent. We will all get to the 3rd trimester at different points. We should have a sticky or even a regular thread where people can express either through a gif and if they don't gif through a regular post to celebrate that milestone and anything else related to that. I think this is big milestone for all of us and just like baby names or movement, we all are in different places about it.
To be honest reading about what is trimester 3 and who has reached it everyday gets a little mundane. This in no way means undermining anyones excitement.
@Winnieella since this was your idea, do you want to start this?
I think she suggested doing it one day when everyone is in third tri, though I could have that wrong.
Yes she did- I was suggesting doing it now since there are many who are excited to hit this milestone so instead of getting tons of posts about the same thing we can have one post started as people have started to hit it this week on wards.
Just a suggestion as it might be good thing to have but if no one feels up for it now we can wait until everyone is there.
FFS. This is why we get laughed at by the other boards.
I vote everyone unclenches and partakes in some of said candy treats.

Milk through nose. Also, ditto.
Last time I trimmed anything was with DH's beard trimmer and that was an ordeal. It's all sorts of patchy and gnarly right now and I. Don't. Care.
It's a damn good thing DH prefers me hairy...

You are borderline redonk with this. I don't feel passionately one way or the other...The post happened, people thought it was excessive, it changed directions.
I feel (and this is my feelings. Not necessarily a fact) like you absolutely love taking the minority opinion and exploding with it. Is there anything about this board you like or agree with? If I were on a board that I was always unhappy with, I probably wouldn't stick around.
To constantly be white knighting when it is or isn't necessary or relevant has to be exhausting.
What?!?! Come again.....what are you talking about??? Clearly you just wanted something to say! If you wrote the post, I would have said the same thing. Who said I or anyone was that unhappy to not stick around. If you notice I always comment in a post with a positive note. If I don't like the post, I move on. Clearly you don't know me. Please go have a sit!!
And for the record I have no problem with the bump!!
FFS. This is why we get laughed at by the other boards.
One time, we got laughed at one time. F14 is in no way the laughingstock of the Bump. Rest easy.
But yes, I will have some of your offered, candy. I love candy.
This thread getsthe biggest eye roll ever. I made it to page 3. OP AW'd STFW? The butt hurtness people get is so annoying. I'm usually team Zig and Lex but I'm going to have to take Tally's side on this. I get being annoyed at OP who is not a big contributor Awing, and actually get being snarky to OP, but going off on Tally bc she eye rolled the snark. Whatevs.

Yes, I think even the people involved will say that this thread got out of control and is really stupid (on both ends, if you ask me - and yes, I was involved). That's why it turned into conversations about candy and pubic hair.
I say we either continue the conversations about candy and shaving, or we let the thread and its stupidity die.
I'm thinking of getting waxed for the first time and I'm scared.
I always "clean up" a little before each appointment because I'm terrified my OB will want to do some kind of check that I'm not prepared for and it'll be a complete mess. It's getting more and more difficult to do, that's for sure.
Brag alert!- I'm smooth. I have this sweet little electric trimmer that I stand in front of the mirror to use. Takes like 15 min but it's worth it. I would like to request velveeta Mac and cheese over candy for my reward.
@megash113 I diligently get my Brazilian every 4-6 weeks. Just had one yesterday in fact. It's about 15 minutes of pain but it's worth it! I say go for it!! Edit: quote tree mess up
I second this. I had one Monday. Totally worth it, especially since I can't see down there anymore. But I have been getting them less frequently than I used to, mainly to save money.
@utpony, at European Wax Center they use this blue wax that hardens instead of putting wax on and sticking a strip to it. I have had both kinds of waxes and the hardening type is much better, IMO. Maybe it would be something you aren't allergic to?
ETA: I am extremely glad that I have a Reese's left on my desk after reading this thread. My friend/coworker gave it to me because she doesn't like Reese's. I did not know it was possible to not like Reese's.
I admire all you waxing ladies. I want to cry just thinking about it. Yes- I am aware labor will own me. But that's a necessary evil now. eta my winky face. I have 9 tattoos but can't imagine a wax.

I'm late, but yes, do this on the day that our last group of ladies hit 3rd tri. That way everyone is included. (So, I guess that would be in 3 weeks? I'm one of the firsts and I hit 3rd tri last week...so I think it would be the first week of Dec) But yes, I will start the gif thread, I have some awesome ones I want to use.

Ok, since we've moved this thread onto to shrubs - I really want to do this but haven't since I've been pregnant...and self maintenance is getting tough. Is your skin more sensitive to this now or react differently, or is it pretty much the same as dealing with the pre-pregnancy reaction?

It's pretty much the same. I actually feel like it goes faster because I can't see what's going on down there!!
I think the key I having a good wax is finding someone you're comfortable with. It took me a while to find the girl I see now and we pretty much just talk the entire time so it goes quickly!
@megash113 so happy we were able to convince you! Hopefully you don't hate us too much as you're getting waxed tomorrow lol. Just keep in mind it's only 15 minutes!!
