Amazon Mom/Prime subscribers

My free trial ends tomorrow so I'm trying to figure out if the $79 subscription is worth it.  I find that I get similar deals at Sam's club for diapers and wipes so I wouldn't get good use of the 20% off diapers deal.  The movie streaming doesn't really appeal to me either since we use redbox for movies and only rent new releases about every 2-3 weeks. We have cable.  I don't have a kindle but I'm thinking of putting it on my christmas list.  So the free book borrowing does appeal to me, but is it really worth $79, and realistically how many books would I read? The free two-day shipping is nice, but I could live without it. 

So those are my thoughts. So far it's looking like I will cancel it. Any other perks I'm missing that could convince me to keep the membership?

I have it and love it.  I order a lot of stuff online since we live in a smaller town and the selection here is limited.  I don't do diapers or movies for the reasons you describe.  I do love the two day shipping and that they sometimes have the items cheaper than other places.  If you are not a huge online shopper it probably is not worth it for you.

Looks like you won't get much use out of it.  We have diaper subscription, we buy TONS of stuff on Amazon for 2-day shipping, and we watch Sesame Street on streaming, so we will definitely re-up.

I love love love Amazon Prime.  I balked at the cost but my time is worth it.  I save so much time and energy just ordering online and getting it in two days rather than running out to the store... printer ink, light bulbs, office supplies, birthday gifts, detergent, clothes... they have everything!

My last order had replacement foam covers for my specific headphones (hard to track down), a gift for my best friend's birthday, and a black cape for Halloween so I could avoid the Halloween store chaos.  Sooooo easy.

I am obsessed with Amazon, so for the 2 day free shipping and the discount on diapers it is worth it for us. They also do the Amazon Mom Events where you get 20% off your purchase a few times a year which is nice....

The free 2-day shipping is enough to keep me interested! We have prime and we order from amazon at least 2-3 times a month, way more during the holiday season. the shipping charges alone cover the $79 fee easily.

If you rarely use it, however, then it is probably not worth it.

I do use amazon often (even have the rewards card) but I think I've only paid for expedited shipping once for a last minute xmas gift, all the other times I've used the free super saver shipping (unless it didn't qualify in which case it wouldn't qualify for prime shipping either). I still usually get stuff within a week though. I did take advantage of a 20% off event when I purchased our two additional carseats. I didn't realize that was amazon mom exclusive, so that's nice. But nicer that it occurred during my free trial muahaha.

Ours was coming up for renewal in Oct so I was rethinking it all too. We don't buy diapers or anything on there, we basically just use the 2 day shipping. I tried to watch some shows/movies a couple times but couldn't find anything good on there so that definitely was not a reason for keeping it. However, I waited too long and our subscription automatically renewed, lol. So we have it for another year.
