Two kiddoes - what now (well, what soon)?

Well, we had two lines yesterday, and that was awesome. It has been a while since J was an infant, and I have forgotten about what, how long and size of things :P
#1: J has stopped with a stroller (about last spring), and now I don't know if I should buy a double or just use the one he used (or buy a new since it looks a bit shabby - perhaps just have it in DC). I know we will go back to walking trips everyday to get fresh air for the baby. HELP, pointers please!

#2: When should we move J to his boy-room? We haven't had a chance to do that yet, but sometime during the spring he will get a brand new room. Should we move him before or after the baby comes? And how long before/after?

#3: How do you deal with wake nights and siblings? Do they wake? We are going to have really close rooms where the door to the "cubs" are inside hubby and I's room, so I don't think they wont hear each other.

#4: What about toys? J was really good at not putting small items in his mouth, but I doubt we are that luck again. And J likes small items now - cars, toys, blocks, puzzles - you name it. How can I separate it, without separating them? I want them both to be able to relax and play in our living room.

Congrats!!! That's great that J doesn't need a stroller anymore. That's one less thing you need to buy. I would move J into his big boy room before the baby gets here so that he doesn't feel displaced by the baby. When the baby comes, get a white noise machine for J's room so that he doesn't start waking up when the baby cries. The toy thing is tough. You have plenty of time to worry about it since it's not an issue until the baby is mobile. C is just starting to crawl and now I'm constantly fishing small objects out of her mouth. Fortunately, she really likes her pacifier, so if I am going to be in the other room for a few minutes, I just give her that, and it prevents her from putting other things in her mouth. I've been trying to teach A not to give small toys to C, but she doesn't quite get it. J will be 4 years old when you have to worry about it though, so you might have better luck.

If J is used to not being in the stroller and is ok walking, then I would probably just use that stroller for the new baby.

IMO, I would try to move J to the new room sooner than later.  So if you're thinking spring, try it and if it doesn't work, wait a few weeks and try again.  With the new baby coming, it'd be better to get J used to the new room way before new LO gets here.

My boys have their own rooms but they're right beside each other and I was worried that if one woke up and cried, it would wake up the other one.  But, that actually has never happened.  They each have white noise playing in their rooms so I think that helps.

Griff was sooo good about not putting things in his mouth but Bishop is the worst so right now we put the small chokable toys away...too bad Griff!    And we just keep a close eye on Bishop.  If he starts to put a car or puzzle piece in his mouth, we just tell him no and take it away.  Griffs really good at watching him too now lol.  He'll be like "mamaaaa!!!  Baba eating tooooooy!!!"

Oh and as for your other pointers, just remember "this too shall pass" lol.  It got me through most days.... come to think of it, I still repeat that quote most days haha.

Congrats!

Both ladies offered good advice. I think the biggest thing you'll need to do is be adaptable. Things will change and sometimes in surprising, unexpected ways. If you can take it all in stride and not worry too much, things will go much more smoothly.
