I have a hard bluish lump on the joint, palm side up, on my ring finer, on my left hand....

I tried looking up what it could be...it is sore and almost looks like the vein is inflammed...

Anyone ever had this?

It is sore...better today then yesterday but sore.

I vote ganglion cyst too. I had one a couple years back. It appeared one day (very tender) and completely disappeared on its own 6 months later.

Ganglion cyst.  I can one on the inside of my palm at the base of my ring finger.  I had it injected with cortisone over 10 years ago and hadn't had any trouble until about 2 yrs ago.  It came back and was very painful.  It was sore to drive even. 

 I saw the ortho and he removed it surgically.  Per the dr I was supposed to be able to return to work immediately.  I work with my hands and take care of patients so I didn't want to return to work with stitches and decreased motion.  Once they removed the stitches, the wound was basically open.  I had to keep steri strips and bandages on it for 3 more weeks.

I'm glad I got mine removed.  It was getting pretty painful.  As I said in my pp, it took longer to heal than I expected, but it's been a couple of years now and I don't have any issues.
