I went on a field trip to the farm today with my kindergarteners. There was a hay ride involved. I had cleared it with my dr. ahead of time. She said it was safe and to have fun. However, the hay ride was super bumpy and now I'm a little worried. I haven't had any cramping or bleeding so I'm probably ok, right? If something bad had happened, I would have probably experienced cramping or bleeding, right?

The baby is well protected. With no symptoms you are absolutely fine!

A little bumping on the hayride isn't going to do anything. Now if you fell OFF the hayride, then I might be worried.

I'm a farmer, I rode on a hay wagon and tractor all through the harvesting, no worries, lots of cushion in there.

I went on one with my first graders at 36 weeks with my DD. thought my water might break right there in the apple orchard but nope. Still needed an induction to get her out. Ha ha

I just want everyone on this board to know.. and please, everyone needs to take this VERY seriously...

DO NOT go on a hayride unless you want to kill your baby! You should also never wear jeans while pregnant or they will constrict the baby and cause stunted growth or M/C... Exercising is also a NO-NO, anyone who becomes pregnant needs to put themselves on bed rest for the ENTIRE nine months, if you want your baby to survive. You should also never yell, as it will startle the unborn child and cause preterm labor! This is serious stuff.

btw, I love how this thread devolved into a discussion of the old school Oregon trail.  you are all awesome!

Oregon Trail was the best thing to happen to the computer lab in elementary school. We always had the choice to play all these math and reading games or Oregon Trail. Every once in awhile a kid chose one of the math or reading games and we all judged them. They had to be crazy for not playing Oregon Trail. For real, my family died all the time but I couldn't stop playing. Best game ever.

Oregon trail rocked so much. As the oldest of 6, I'd make all my siblings transform our downstairs couch into a wagon. Then, as we played, the ones who died had to get out and lie on the floor. Good times lol
