I'm only 4 weeks along with #2, and I'm not inspired to tell my family yet, not even mom. It feels too early. Segue to some super awesome jeans that my mom was wearing last weekend. I ooed and aahed about them. Mom called this morning and offered to buy me a pair (presumably for an early xmas present, which we tend to do). Is there any way to tactfully extricate myself? There's no point to buying ANY clothes, let alone "expensive" ones, that aren't going to fit me in the near future, and possibly not after baby either. I may be brain dead today, because I can't think of a single excuse that would fly to get out of this. Any ideas? (I sort of feel stupid even posting this, but there's no one else to help me)
Re: Help me brainstorm an excuse
Maybe tell her you're trying to get pregnant instead of already pregnant. Or get a gift receipt and return them!
As a side note, I'm totally impressed that your mom was wearing jeans that you wanted. What brand were they? I can't imagine being remotely interested in wearing any piece of clothing that my mother wears. She must be cool
Thanks for the ideas ladies!
