    Hump day!! :-)

35wks woot woot. Good bye chances of nicu. you will not be missed... Next week I have any appt to ditch the stitch but I might ask to keep it for another wk :-)

I went to be at 9:30 because I didn't sleep all afternoon :-) woke up at 4:30am so very much wide awake now.

My birthday was very sweet and relaxed. DH and I were going to go out and eat but u decided to leave it for Saturday. My mom, two sisters and niece came over with a cake :-) We went through bags and bags of hand me downs. Since my mom is washing them for me and also watching my baby we separated them in 5 piles. Clothes I want to keep, clothes she has to keep at her house, clothes for my step sister that just had a little girl, donation pile and trash. :-) there was a bunch of awwwwws lol.

I live in the Bronx, NYC, all my life. Would love to move to a warm climate state some point in my life..

I slept well but my TDAP injection site is so sore. I should have gotten it in my right arm.

No new milestones. Looking forward to 30 weeks on Saturday. I had a cleaning lady come by yesterday. I am waiting for her estimate. In the meantime, my mil did half the house and the ironing on Sunday and my mom came yesterday to do the other half and the laundry!

I live in Westchester right outside NYC. Until Thursday, I commuted into Manhattan everyday for work.

@kneenah1231 where are you delivering? I am at Columbia on 165th.

D & L are here at 34 weeks 4 days by vaginal and breech delivery on 11/19/2013
Two healthy boys weighing 4 lbs 15 ozs and 4 lbs 5 ozs.  Only 6 days in the NICU and getting bigger, stronger and cuter every day!
  • Morning ladies...I slept pretty well. From one procardia alarm to the other! Happy 35w kneenah! No NICU time is a big deal.

Today I have my OB appt and I am hoping they check my cervix since I lost my mucus plug a week ago. I am convinced if it were not for the procardia I would have babies right now. So glad it's doing its job.

I live just outside of Philadelphia. Been here my whole life! Kneenah, I am with you, warmer would be nice however fall is my favorite season. I am not sure I could give that up!

  • Pinkin: I am delivering at Einstein hospital in the Bronx. They have a great maternity ward with private rooms. I am very familiar with Columbia. How is their maternity ward? What level is their nicu?

SMS: keep us posted on your appt later good luck..
  • @pinkinprovence- I thought the TDAP shot was the most painful I ever had! Like someone seriously punched me in the arm, it hurt for a week! I thought I was a pro with needles until I got that one.

Need to vent! Today is the 4 year anniversary of my FILs death. My MIL is having surgery as we speak. My dad was in the ER last night with kidney stones. And my mom is having to stay with him until this afternoon and catching up on sleep. So DH is working and I am flying solo with DS today and I have an OB appt. And as if that wasn't bad enough I just read the side of my procardia bottle and it says to avoid grapefruit, which I have had for breakfast the past 4 days....awesome!!

  • How did everyone sleep?
    Restless night.

    Milestones, updates, appts?
12 more days until I beat my record last pregnancy. Today is 26w2d.

Qotd: What part of the world do you live?
I live in upstate NY in the Rochester area and will be delivering at Strong Memorial Hospital...one of the best!  When my daughter was there, there were babies being flown into their NICU via helicopter from all over the place, I remember a few out of state.  It's a great place.

  • Wow.. Very stressful day :-( hope all goes well with your appt and your family... We've all had those day... My vent of the day is. I can't take it out my head that everything with my baby is ok. I keep thinking of cord accidents. I just spent 20mins convincing myself that the rate heart on the Doppler was hers and not mine. I was poking around at her to get her to move, eating I've but I assume she is lazy today. I was about to call my Mfm. I've been a downer today.

Kneenah! I know it's so hard to not worry. Eat some candy...that always gets my guys going, that or PB&J works, haha! I know it's hard not to psych yourself out. Babies are survivors for sure, try not to stress cord issues because they are so rare. Your baby girl is totally healthy which is a great thing!

  • My lovely husband wanted to watch "American Horror Stories" I ended up being so freaked out by it that I couldn't sleep and only got a mere couple of hours in, which pretty much equals no sleep.

I have an appointment with my OB later today. Actually getting to meet the new practitioner that just started there. Let's see what she's like..

    Qotd:
At the moment I live in Michigan. Ish gettin cold, and I LOVE it. Weird because before pregnancy I was all about that heat now pffff hot flashes is all I'm saying.

@kneenah 35 weeks woot woot \:D/ oh and Happy belated Birthday!!! And I wish I had hand me downs..well I'll be going to a second-hand children bazaar soon and try to find a few nice things.
@sms I'm sorry to hear how hectic everything is for you and that there's family still in the hospital *insert big stranger hug* >:D< and about the grapefruit juice, honestly as long as you have not had any reactions don't worry about it now, just good you caught it.

  • Good morning, all.  I slept well last night, my hips are just killing me this morning.

No milestones today- waiting for the big 34 tomorrow!  I had a lot of contractions yesterday from about 4pm-7pm or so.  I was starting to get worried, but then I took my next procardia an hour early and they slowed down again.  The contractions used to be just in the central portion of my uterus, but now most of them also go up into the right upper portion of my uterus and make my ribs tight, which is much more uncomfortable.

QOTD- I live just north of Baltimore.  I'll be delivering at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where I worked for 6 years.  I've been in this area for 11 years now, but I grew up just north of Philly (Hatboro).

SMS- where do you live outside of Philly?

Seems like we have a lot of new yorkers on here!  I used to travel up to Einstein once in a while for business, so I'm familiar with that Hospital.

  • Sft- we now live in west chester...before that in Havertown/Conshohocken. But I grew up in Paoli. I totally know where you grew up! What HS did you go to?

    imageimage

  • Lol small world ^^^
  • Oh and guys, I'm starting to get a little scared. Tomorrow is my last day of taking Procardia and bedrest :-S

    image
    image

  • What are you scared about? Delivery?
  • Hmm I'm honestly not so much scared about delivery (well maybe a tad bit) but that LO will end up needing time in the NICU if he were to come now and I think it's more the thought that he might be here any day that kind of startles me. I guess I'm just getting nervous at how quick and fast this all went by.

  • Morning ladies. I slepted great last night. Best in a while. I hope I am getting into a routine now and these days will start flying by.

Next appt is Tuesday. Which is my glucose test and I will have a nst done. My dr wants to see if I will contract. Then I have another cervical length Us the following week. I hope to continue coasting with no problems.

My mom is coming over today! Looking forward to company. She's bringing lunch and is going to stay and make dinner as well.

    I live in Michigan.

For those with ptl and short cervix. Do u still feel contractions/ braxton hicks. I know it can be normal in pregnancy but with a short cervix it makes me nervous. My dr said 5 to 6 would warrent a visit or vag bleeding. I probably have 8 or so a day sometimes I go like 3 to 5 hrs with none. Others I will have 2 an hr apart. Just wondering how often those on meds have them.

My sil had tons of them sometimes she had 5 to 6 an hr but never had ptl, or bed rest and delivered at 37 and 38 weeks with her kids. So that made me feel better until I found out my cervix was funneling/ shortening. Because mine are painless. It's just the tightening that I feel.
    BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

  • Roses - I have a couple of them throughout the day, still. They are especially prominent during the night.
Also they started to get a bit stronger from the "regular" BH I was having before and they will last longer making my whole stomach rock hard to the point my Husband is freaking out about it, and they won't subside for the longest time. Definitely asking bout those at my doc. appointment today :I

    image

  • I feel like some of the ones I get its my entire stomach hardening. My dr knows this and this is why she did the ffn. But I am also pretty skinny. So not sure if I just notice it more. Sometimes its just half of my ute getting hard.. Just depends. I do notice that I normally contract around the time I start thinking of using the bathroom. Then I have one and It makes the feeling stronger.. I just hope these are not doing anything to my cervix. I want to make it to my first goal of 28 weeks..

  • Morning ladies. I miss checking in with you all!!!!
Just wanted to Congratulate everyone on all the milestones : ) amazing.
    Oh! And Happy belated kneenah!!!!!

    :)

  • Justmaike: refresh my memory how far are you?

Roses I get BHs all the time. I notice some positions I am in causes them more. I just change positions and drink water and they stop... I will definitely bring it to your drs attention. I was told to only go in if I have bleeding/spotting or they become painful... Mine aren't painful and never showed signs that it was affecting my cervix so I never went in...
  • Mariana: glad to see you in here :-)
  • kneenah - I'm 34+5 ^^

And I was also told that if they're getting painful or they exceed six in one hours to go in.

  • Oh sweety don't worry. From my understand once you get to 35wks chances baby needs nicu is slim to none... :-( I know the worries are still there and would want to hold longer but don't let that scare you.. I am 35wks today and hoping I give birth sooooon lol.. I am so uncomfortable and very paranoid I just want my baby in my arms... I am scared of labor
  • That makes me feel a bit better and I'm actually aching to hold him in my arms as well, because, like you, I'm quit paranoid of something being wrong with baby at times ^^'
Is there anything in particular that scares you most about labor?

  • Happy Hump Day!  (My favorite day of the week right now because it's my week change day)

Slept okay last night.  About 1am-8am.  So not too shabby.  Only got up twice to pee.

32 weeks today!  So happy to be at this milestone but still want to keep it moving.  Next goal is 34 weeks.  (Had DD at 34w5d so maybe with my medications and bed rest I will make it to 36+)  Had my P17 injection today and left a urine sample because I feel like I might have a UTI.  They sent me in an antibiotic to start taking right away since my results won't be in for a couple days.  They'll call me and let me know if I didn't have a UTI so I can stop taking the antibiotics.

Qotd:  I live in the United States (Michigan)  It's a lovely, gloomy, fall day here today.

Oh no!  Do you have to take DS to your OB appt?  And I was bummed when I saw the Grapefruit warning on the bottle of Procardia.  I had been going through Grapefruit like no other before that.  I still crave it.

  • Morning ladies!  @Kneenah-35?! Awesome!  So happy for you and adios to the NICU!  @SMS-thinking good thoughts for your family, it isn't an easy time I'm sure.
@JandM-I just beat my last delivery gestation (24w6d) and it really is a mental/emotional milestone.  You are close!
@Roses-I have bouts of contractions a lot too.  My cervix is funneled down to external OS and I am dilated 1 cm.  My MFM told me 4 an hour is normal.  It I have 2 that are closer than 15 minutes apart, I request a Procardia rescue dose.  Haven't had a situation in a while were extra doses haven't calmed them down.  Sometimes the contractions have changed cervix and sometimes they've done nothing.  Its so frustrating not knowing!  Go with your gut, you know your body best.  GL!
@Hjweber-32 weeks!  Congratulations, 34 is right around the corner :-)

Not sleeping well at night, so I'm still sleeping in during am hours.  Today I have a new nurse and she put all the lights on and started talking and asking me questions and I was still in zombie mode.  Didn't get back to sleep, so now I feel like I need a nap!  Pedicure was so nice yesterday!  I had them painted orange with pumpkins on the big toes to entertain my DSs when they come.  Nice to have a little pampering here!

QOTD: I'm another NYer, upstate, about 2 hours north of the city.  I will deliver at Vassar Brothers, they have all private rooms and a level 3 NICU.  Been here 6 weeks today and hoping for another 6 :-)
  • JustMaike- I had DS at exactly 35w to the day and he had zero NICU time!!!  you are pretty much in the safe zone!!!

Roses-  I get BH that harden my stomach for upto 20 mins at a time and I am still cooking!  Its when they get painful that my OB worries.  What was your ffn results?

Mariana- how is your sweet pea doing?

hjweber- I only have to take him if my dad is still sick.  He is passing kidney stones so he has been throwing up all day!

    imageimage

  • @smscartozzi my ffn at 24 and 1 was positive. I am now 25 and 3. my ob said it was probably positive because of the funneling.
    BFP #1 (7/13/12) MC (8/14) 9 weeks. D & C 8/17.
BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

  • SMS- I know all those areas :-)  I went to Upper Moreland High School.

Roses- I still have contractions all the time.  In a good hour I only have maybe 2, but in the afternoon or early evening, I often start having them about 10-15 minutes apart.  Fortunately they usually slow down after a couple hours.  My doc told me to call for more than 6 an hour, so I sometimes get close to that, but haven't called because it hasn't gone above that without going away on it's own soon after yet. The frequency of them hasn't changed too much in the last couple months, and I haven't had cervical changes in a while, so most of them aren't doing anyway.  They are slowly getting slightly more and more painful though.  They usually last 1-1.5 minutes each.

  • sms - really? Yay :D now I'm excited haha

Totally! He was born at 2am and midnight was 35w. He might as well have been 34w6d. Also, I did not have any steroid shots or anything. He did go to the NICU for an eval but was back in 30 mins. He could breath well and breast fed great! He had a little issue regulating his body temp but got it under control by the second day. They just wrapped him in fleece sleep sacks for the first day. 35w and after is a very safe time to have a baby!

    imageimage

  • Roses- sound like you are almost out of the 2 week window for the ffn anyway! I think you are doing great!

    imageimage

  • I had my DD at 34w5d and the hospital I had her at kept her for 12 days .   :(  It makes me sad to think that she was healthy enough to come home with us and they didn't let her.  She never had any breathing issues, no problems maintaining temp, she latched right on to my breast the first attempt at breastfeeding, and drank my breast milk out of a preemie bottle with minimal issues.  She did have to spend a day under the light for mild jaundice but that was within the first 2 days and everything was fine after that.  I think they just kept her to monitor her and observe her but I really wish they would have sent her home with us.  So, I'm still scared to deliver at 35 weeks just because of my experience.  But I've had so many people tell me that at 35 weeks, the NICU is pretty much history.  Now I feel like calling the hospital and asking why they didn't send DD home with us!  Lol.

  • I slept ok last night until about 4 in the morning so I'm trying to nap now. Nothing really new here other than SO still being super sick, hes going into the doctor today poor guy. I live in New York, upstate where it is beautiful right now with all the colors!

Labor it's self scares me. When I loss my son I had to be induced and I would never forget the pain :-/
  • Hjweber- how big was your DD, my son was 6lbs 9oz...he was brewing to be a gigantic baby, maybe it was a weight issue. Every hospital is different unfortunately. I think 35w is the magic number though. My hospital has a special care nursery within the well baby nursery where they kept him for a day for observation, however I could have him in my room whenever I wanted to. So he did get some special treatment.

    imageimage

  • I slept pretty well last night. Our power went out last night, but luckily it is back on today.

No milestones today. Friday will be 36 weeks. Today I am doing a 24 hr urine test for pre-e. Oh the joys of high risk/twin pregnancy. I wouldn't mind if the results showed that I need to deliver. I'm super uncomfortable and happy to make it well into my 35th week when they thought I was going to deliver at 27 wks.

QOTD-I live in Alaska. Luckily, I have a great MFM doc and OB. The NICU here is also good. I am happy to live only minutes from the hospital where I also work.

    Kneenah-congrats on 35!!
  • @Sarah- you probably hate that I am going to say this but in all the TV I am watching I started watching the show about Alaskan women looking for love...have you seen it? How unrealistic is it? Can't imagine Alaskan men are that bad!
