There's no excuse

For men wearing pants that aren't the right length.  Their shit comes in sizes BY THE INCH so it's not like they're limited to the very generic "regular/ankle/long" lengths that women get and their shoes rarely make a big difference in how their pants fall.  This is brought to you by the guy with his fucking gym socks (with dress pants - that's a whole different vent) showing and the guy who looked nice enough in his suit except for the fact that his pants were under the heels of his shoes.

Re: There's no excuse

  • Oh and as a bonus, let's throw in "casual Friday guy."  He's a contractor and asked me if Fridays are casual (they are) and then showed up like a 60 year old frat guy in sneakers, jeans frayed at the hem and a fucking hoodie.

Mt husband wears a 38 inch inseam, also some sizes are hard to find(like a 30x34). I also think guys just buy and don't try on. After working retail for year I also know some guys think they just "know" their size and I could tell by looking at them that it is not the size they are. My husband has a hard time with pants, though he would never wear too short pants.

  • LOL. This is a thing for me too.

My old bosses used to talk about how they got their suits tailored. Well someone was doing it wrong their pants were always to short.

LOL  this is me actually.  I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I got tired of trying to find matching socks, so I just buy a couple of bags of white ones.  I do TRY not to let them show, and wear my pants long enough though.
Why don't you just buy a million pairs of the same black socks? :)

  • My DHs size is a little difficult to find. He usually has to have them hemmed. It sounds easier but there's also some variation between stores. You'd think it would be the same since its measurement based but some stores don't fit right.

Believe me, I have all the sympathy in the world for people who can't buy their size easily (4'10 here and I am neither "all leg" or "all torso"  I'm am evenly short on both halves of my body lol)  But come on people , try lol  Many inches short or long is unforgivable :)

I really am lol  This one I think is legit.  The other one was more personal preference and it seems I'm totally in the minority.

DH is 6 ft tall and thought he wore a 30 in inseam. Um, no honey. No.
Yeah, unless that man is all torso and neck. IYKWIM.

And yeah, I've had some ill fitting pants, but the length is always right. It's the thighs and butt and waist that can give issue, since I'm a bit of a pear and a lot of pants that fit my waist are tight on my thighs.

  • DH wears socks under his uniform that are practically thigh-highs, so since he is tall and his flight suit (he's Air Force) is basically Capri pants, I'm thankful his boots cover them up.

When he's off work he wears his socks with basketball shorts and his work tshirt. I can't take him anywhere.

@LuckyDad, how cute that you're a pear shape! I have never heard a man describe himself that way before. :-p
LOL, well, I'm not a "real" pear, just relative to most men I carry more weight below my waist. But yeah, no skinny jeans for me, jesus christ they squeeze my thighs.

I just snorted, for real.  A man-pear.  I love it.

  • I wish all women's sizes came in inseam instead of just a single number, too.

Yes! It's so annoying when even the "short" pants are still too long.

Buy the ankle length pants. They're all the rage right now and will be perfect full length for you!

  • DH wears a 29" inseam.  I am comfortable in a 33/34" inseam.  We are the same height.  All his pants drag on the ground and I have a hard time finding long enough pants.

  • So sorta on this topic. If you know a man who wears his jeans all wrong. Size is just off or something and he jacks them up so high he has man-toe do you tell him? If it just happens to be your BIL is it weird that you notice?

  • Ugh buying pants short enough is so fucking frustrating. I am 5'4". How the hell does someone who is actually petite do it. I have like maybe a 27" inseam to boot. A lot of times short length is too farking long. WTAF! Plus, I'm not small so that adds to it. My DH is 6'4" and wears a 32" inseam but is also not small and his size is hard to find. Seems the larger the man the shorter the inseams and the larger the woman the longer the inseams are. Fucking sucks ass man!

  • My theory is that this happens when men change sizes and don't want to admit it.  At least, I had to drag my DH kicking and screaming into wearing shirts size large instead of medium, and that was from working out, not from getting a beer gut.  I don't know what the deal is.

A lot of women have proportionately longer legs than men do for their height. It's probably part of why most men find long legs to be visually appealing.

I actually wear a different inseam for slacks compared to jeans.

Its my husband's brother. I did tell him. He just shrugged and said he didn't know why his brother dressed that way. I said, well it is probably because no one in his family cares enough to tell him, "dude men should not be walking around with camel toe!".
