My UO is that I can't stand it when people give their babies/small kids a toy to play with while shopping, when they have no intentions of buying it.
I make sure before I let Ava hold something, that we are for sure buying it before we leave.
DH does that and it drives me nuts! I don't see how it is so hard to bring a toy your kid already owns, or in DH's case, look in the diaper bag for a toy!
Also not a fan of the camel/ hump day or the booties. I do love my uggs, however. Most comfortable shoes ever.
I really can't stand those giant inflatable yard decorations that you see around the holidays. Think inflatable snow globes half the size of someone's house. Actually, I'm not a fan of any type of "lawn ornament."
This is a thing? I hate seeing the silver balls people hang from their cars, as in testicles.. I've only ever seen them on big trucks, but they are unfortunately really popular around here.

I agree but it is hard sometimes. My LO seems to love the stuff I don't plan to buy and hates the stuff I do buy. I have purchased things just because she has drooled/chewed on it!
My UO is that I don't like tennis shoes. I will not wear them unless I am working out/jogging. I prefer ballet flats or Sperry's.

My husband has these on his truck. It's embarrassing

Me either! There's a house in a really affluent area here that has a black cat that's taller than the house. It's in a pounce position and the butt is seriously at the top of the chimney and the tail extends at least 5 feet. Ridiculous.

@laurski81 I make sure B is holding the toy when we walk in so I can force them to watch security footage if they accuse me. I probably way overthink this. Ha.
@aylafsu88 I'm with you. I especially can't stand tennis shoes with jeans. *shudder*
@zpanjwani I just laughed out loud because I pictured you with blonde hair. It wouldn't work on me either. I don't like it either. It tends to look either really fried or almost green.

We went to a party store earlier this week and I had to run back inside to return the Cadbury Scream Egg LO apparently grabbed from the checkout counter while I was paying. I had picked out a little flag to let him play with in the store, which I paid for, and he just liked throwing it down...when I put him in his car seat I noticed the egg clenched in his grubby little fist. So now I have a stupid flag and not chocolate. We were both a little annoyed at that situation. So, yes, I agree for the most part. But if the egg is what kept him from flipping out while I paid I don't see the harm, besides stealing. Stealing is not ok.
I don't think young toddlers and babies should watch TV. I'm also surprised at how unpopular this one seems to be.
I was literally posting that my only time of peace each day is during Sesame Street. It's the only show he will watch and it's for about 2 mins at a time.
I know this doesn't really relate to our lives today, but oh well. I think it's more important to pick a highchair based on functionality versus style (whether it clashes with your house or not). Riley's highchair is pretty darn ugly and I don't like the pattern or colors at all, but the highchair itself works great and is easy to clean. I remember a lot of people picking out certain patterns based on the color of their kitchen and I didn't really understand it. It's a highchair people, it's not supposed to be stylish!
I bought a stylish one. Its adorable and Iove how it looks and it matches my kitchen, but it's annoying. It's hard to get the tray in and out, it's not as comfortable for LO, and it is hard to move around. I wish I had just bought one for function rather than asthetics now...
I think an 8 hour work day is BS. I have been working with people in Europe lately and they seriously work like 5 hour days. Plus working mothers have Fridays off almost across the board. This makes me sound whiny, but I am gone from 7am-7pm every single day. I am exhausted and I am jealous of people who make way more than me and work half the time.
I LOVE the smell of wood/charcoal burning. Whether it is a campfire, a house fire, or even just a real charcoal grill, I love the smell. I love having my windows rolled down in the late fall/early winter because so many people are burning their dead leaves/branches and it smells heavenly.
I'll take labor any day over recovery. I would deliver 100 babies if my vag was leak free, pain free, and pristine an hour later.
This! I had a C/S, but recovery for me was a BIATCH! Granted, my C/S was a little more traumatic than most, It was weeks before I could function decently.
This is more of an FC, but I wish I had a child who would watch TV! Other than zoning out on select commercials she likes (not for toys, mind you, but ads for local community colleges and pharmaceutical ads. She's an odd one) she shows very little interest in it. I'm jealous of those of you who can get an extra 15-20 minutes of peace!
I liked being in labor. If I could pass this whole being pregnant crap and go right to l&d I would probably have about 15 kids.
What? I cannot process this. I had such a hard delivery that I honestly have blacked it out. I literally have 6 hours of my life that no matter how hard I try, I cannot remember. I remember checking in and the six hours later when I got my epidural. Nothing in between. My mom though has tried to remind me of how much pain I was in. Yes indeed, your opinion is unfathomable to me, but I still love ya.
@bellaxanthe, there are parts of Benjamin's birth that I have completely blacked out as well. And on the flip side, after Emily's, I have actually longed to give birth again. I don't want another baby, I've had no pangs of baby fever, but I have wished deeply that I could birth again... and again, and again. It's both amazing and sickening, the vast array of birth experiences in this country (or any, I suppose, but mostly here).
I have blocked out parts as well. And Noah's delivery was the most terrifying moment if my life by far. But the amazing thing that happens during - the outcome- it really is truly so wonderful. I do like later in pregnancy the feeling if the baby move but that is it. Haha.
I know what you mean. The excitement of giving birth to a human being is beyond describe for me. I had both my boys naturally and of course there were a lot of pain - but the mind just blocks it. I had epidural with Veronica and the whole labor expierience was just wonderfull! So am with you on this
My UO - I think diaper cake is a bizzare and not a classy idea. I would gag if I got one for my baby shower.

The only time Cam will gaze at the tv is if there is a dog on it. Anything else and he ignores it like it didn't exist. Quite nice, since it means we get to have the tv on whenever we want without it bugging him.
Same with DS, except with a baby. Or if there is applause, which he claps to. Otherwise he doesn't care, he has more important things to do.
My UO: I think Lady Gaga is the shizznit. I would never go to her show or anything, but every time one of her songs comes on the radio I sing as loud as I can. I also enjoy the choreography for her songs on the Dance Central games. So much fun!!
My kid is obsessed with tv. It's a blessing and a curse. We only watch kids shows that I like. I can't stand Sophia the first or jake and the neverland pirates. But I do like fresh beat band, little einsteins and I hate to admit it... Yo Gabba Gabba.
I don't plan on celebrating any holidays ever again. Maybe that makes me a bad mom, but it is too painful for me. I take care of her, feed her nutritious meals, love on her, and read to her, despite it being very painful due to my husband's profession (children's librarian). I walk through hell every second of the day and the only reason I do it is for her. If that's not enough, that's too bad.
Oh, and she watches Sesame Street. I do think she gets something from it. She is obsessed with ABCs and has loved books from the beginning so I'm not worried about it. There's a lot of music too, which she loves.

I love gaudy decorations. My dream when I have a house is to be the loudest one in town
My uo: South Park isn't funny. It's stupid and I get mad when Simeon's is watching it.
