Motrin-induced insomnia?

I gave my LO some Motrin around noonish because his molars were bothering him. I thought once it helped he would be able to rest even better, but now we have blown completely through nap time and he is acting hyped up with no sign of sleeping ever again. I have been nursing, rocking, and wrestling him and none of the usual tactics are working. I am vaguely remembering a night of wakefulness a while back when I had given motrin to help him rest through teething pain and it backfired just like this. Tylenol always helps, but we were out. Anyone else have this problem with Motrin? Or am I crazy? My mom said she's never heard of Motrin causing wakefulness so I thought I'd ask the experts my J12ers!

Does it have red dye in it? I think I've heard of kids having a reaction to that.  I hope he sleeps for you soon!

@trixi282 thanks for the link, I remember hearing about that, and mine doesn't have one of the included lot numbers, but I double checked just to be sure. I don't know what the deal is.

I have heard of kids going nuts on benedryl, so that sounds plausible. Hope he passes out for you soon.
