has your LO gone down to one nap?

I'm not sure if it's DD teething, but she has started taking a long first nap at about 11am and not taking a second one. Up until last week she would go down at about 10 for 1.5-2 hours and then again at 3:30/4 for 1 hour, some times a little more or less. She still wants to go to her room and nurse like she's going to bed, she even dozes off for a minute. Then she pops up and acts like she's all refreshed. This has also led to her going to bed right at 7 and sleeping pretty great, but she's clingy around dinner time.
So to summarize she is going to bed at 7, waking once or twice to nurse (about 11p and 330a), and up for the day between 6:30 and 7:30. Then she's napping from 11a until 1p or 1:30p (today it was until 1:45p), snoozing for about 5 minutes in my arms while nursing at around 3:30p or 4p.
She will be 10 months on Oct 10.
Do you think it's permanent? Or just a phase?

  • Sounds like a phase to me, but every baby is different. Everything I know about dropping down to 1 nap I learned here: https://www.hellobee.com/2012/06/05/dropping-to-one-nap-when-is-it-time/#comments

My DD is only 8 months, so by all means, I'm no expert on the subject!

  • DD is 10 months, she went down to 1 nap about 3 weeks ago. She used to nap around 10am and 4pm for about 1-2 hours. But the last few weeks she hasn't been giving any sleep cues in the morning and kept crying when I would try to put her down for a nap. So I dropped the morning nap and put her to sleep when she starts yawning around 1pm. She naps for 2-3 hours. Not sure if its a phase or not but it seems to work for now.

  • We switched our ds to one nap at 12 months, before that he was napping at around 10 am and 3 pm for about an hour and a half. Now he is not interested in morning nap, so we transitioned to 1 nap, and he sleeps fine at night.
  • She's taken two naps the past few days, but it's messed up from normal. I'll just go with the flow. At least I know if I HAVE to be out and about she will be ok with skipping one.
    Thanks everyone!
