Should I take Provera if I was actively ttc?

My doctor just prescribed Provera because my cycle is all over the map, last one being 50 days. This cycle I took clomid, did all the BD'ing using preseed and all that stuff. Should I be taking the Provera if I maybe pregnant? I can't test for a few more days. I don't chart and my CM has been weird due in part to the clomid.

After this cycle, we're taking a break until the first of the year. I want to start getting healthy and lose some weight before going to the RE.

    Did you have proper testing done before taking Clomid....  Day 3 testing, HSG and your partner a Semen Analysis?

    Me DX: Hashimotos,Hypothyroid, DOR, MTHFR,  DH: normal

     IUI #1-#4 BFNs and a few cancelled cycles in the mix.
    - poor responder
    ***Suprise BFP on 6/13/13. Natural MC @6wks 3days
    IVF#1 and 2- Cancelled due to no response on max stimms
    FET 5/20- BFP
    1st Beta- 641
    2nd beta- 2166
    Sono- TWINS!!!!
    Two Boys! Born January 2015 @36 weeks.  Healthy and no NICU!  So blessed!

    @ksgsmu, no I didn't. My doc said to go ahead and take it before testing...and I trusted her. Now I know better and am breaking up w/ my doc to head to the RE in Jan. 

    I'm going to do HSG on my next cycle so I can avoid that cost w/ the RE.

    ok good... yeah there is no point doing Clomid ( and wasting your 6x lifetime max) if you have blocked tubes or a sperm issue going on.  Getting the HSG out of the way and a Semen Analysis are a good start!

    I would wait to take the Provera. If you were not preventing this month dont take a chance. Test in a few days or ask your doctor to do betas to be safe.
