Re: my true birth story...

  • I am sorry that you had to go through that. I can relate to a lot of what you said. I also had a long labor at over 75 hours and was preparing myself to transfer when luckily baby girl dropped. I'm very aware of how close I came to having a hospital birth. After all that effort I can only imagine how hard it would be to take an unexpected turn like that but you got through it with a healthy girl. I am amazed at your ability to put yourself aside for your daughter and want to commend you on the amazing job you did even if it wasn't how you pictured it. Good job!

  • You have the strength to share your story, which is amazing. I can't say i know how you feel but I can empathize. You did an amazing thing, when most other women would have caved in you pushed on. Frankly this story says more to me about your perseverance and trust in your own body then it does about your failures.

  • Thank you for sharing your story.  You are a strong woman and did an amazing job. As women we are hard on ourselves and we tend to beat ourselves up over things.  I know that I felt a lot of the things you mentioned even though my birth was uneventful.  I regret some things that I said, did, and felt after LO was delivered.  I am glad that you were able to work through your feelings and share your story.
  • Thank you for sharing your story! There are many women who are going through the same thing you did and will find comfort by reading your story and knowing that they are not alone. Also, your DD is adorable!

  • I ended up with pitocin and an epidural with my first. I also had an episiotomy and vacuum extraction. I was just happy that I was able to avoid a c-section. My 2nd was a totally different experience. She was born with no medical interventions at all. If you have more children, just know that it won't be the same experience.
