My DD2 is Dominic (Dom-i-nick) and he is ALWAYS getting called Dominique (Dom-a-neek). That is a girl's name people, come on. I also have an Aidan and Greyson and they get misspelled all the time.
I'm so shaking my head at some of these. We named our son Grayson and we are always having to repeat his name because people for some reason can't get it the first time. His twin sister we named Rebecca and I'm always getting asked with two c's or two k's...I honestly never seen the name Rebecca spelled rebekka.
Rebekka is the Hebrew spelling, it's in the Torah.

Ahh...thank you I was wondering because we get asked a lot.
How did I not realize Henry would be "Hank"? Facepalm. I farking hate that nn!! I specifically voted against Henry being DH's name the third, because I didn't want people calling him "the turd". I thought I had considered every scenario!
I like Hank. Its my SO's parents dogs name
A lot of people want to call my LO John Jr...but he goes by his middle name of Haddock. People also ask if his first name is Jonathan, nope. And I hate when people call him JJ.
In defense of "people"...when you teach school and have four Brooklyns in one class and they're all spelt and pronounced differently you're never sure what to say. So I can see where people would mispronounce a few of your names. Sorry. My first name was ALWAYS misspelt and mispronounced growing up and it's just something I had to get over.
Who knew Max was always short for something? People are baffled that his name is Max.
Person- What's his name? Me- Max? P- Oh like Maxwell/Maximus/Maximillion/Maximo/Maximilianus? Me- No just Max P- Just Max? Me- Yes P- Hmm, that's different.
DH's Grandpa even called us a week or so ago because he had "Actually met another person JUST named Max!!"
We get it now with "just Luke" and I'm sure it will be even worse if we have another boy because we will be naming him just Alex. I feel your pain.
This. Only with my DD Kate. Not Katherine or Katie. Just Kate.
My husband and I had huge fights about names because he wanted Anthony or something Polish. I work in a middle school and hate the nick name Ant or Tony. DH insisted no one would use nicknames we didn't pick. I knew people would. So we settled on Patrick, thinking we would use his full name, but people may call him Pat. Now people are calling him Patty and it annoys me to no end. Patty is a girls name people!
