What hair bands do you use? Is there a trick for getting the hair in them quickly and neatly without having to use a tranquilizer gun?

Re: Pony/pigtails question
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have the hardest time keeping up with that damn little comb for her hair! Ugh I feel like I need to buy like 20 of them to have a few in each vehicle and at least one in every room of our house!
I can barely get a diaper on without tranquilizing. This is the only reason I am thankful we don't have enough hair for a pony yet.
As it is I can barley get a bow in their hair. And the second I get one in one of them takes it out. I am not looking forward to the days when they are trying to pull eachothers pigtails out.

These:
Wet hair and quick hands.
I tried these but because her hair is fine they slipped out after only minimal head shaking.
We use the Goody ouchless elastics. DD has always been really good about letting me do her hair. It's one of the only reasons I haven't cut it all off. I usually give her something to distract her. It's not perfectly bumpless, but I just do the best I can. They're these:
