Spotting...again...

So, woke up in the middle of the night with spotting again, but I would consider it bleeding this time. It's still just when I wipe, but it's red, and it's like the first day of my period for me. I told the nurse all of this when I spoke to her.

The nurse said the on call doctor just said to call back if it's enough to soak a pad or I start cramping. Well, last time, they told me to call back if it turned red. I'm not even a worrier by nature, but it's pissing me off that they don't consider any of this enough of a reason to see me before my normal appt (Oct 10). I'm about to call back and lie and just say that I do have some cramps or something so that I can be seen. :(

Re: Spotting...again...

  • So sorry.  I agree it's weird that they wouldn't want to see you sooner.  I would push to come in before your scheduled appointment and rest up in the meantime.  I hope everything is okay.

I'm with you.  I had spotting for a day in week 5 and thought it was a thing of the past.  This morning it's back.  I also got the wait and see if it gets worse talk.  This is particularly shitty today because my son has a fever of 102 and didn't sleep last night because he kept throwing up.

  • It's not like I can rest up very easily with a 6 month old, you know? :) Hope your LO feels better soon!

I called her back and told her I had cramping now, and she just told me Tylenol, water, and call back later. I feel like this is freaking ridiculous when I haven't even been seen yet.

  • I am sorry you are going through this.  My sent my OB an electronic message last week that I had one small spot of a brownish colored discharge and within 3 hours they had called, sent me for bloodwork, and had me in the next day for ultrasound.  That is after I told them a half dozen times it wasn't red or pink and I was 100% not worried about it.

I would be super-super frustrated that they keep pushing you off after asking you to call when "x" happens.

  • I'm so sorry you are going through this. I'd definitely push to be seen; being in limbo sucks a big one. FX everything works out.

  • Have you had your beta levels tested? Can you push for that?

  • I had spotting at about 5 weeks, and without being seen they gave me an order to get my beta's tested then tested again 38 hours later. I would call and ask for a blood test to get your beta's tested. You don't even need to see the dr. for it.

  • @jmejme and @empireceo, all this spotting sucks!  Get those feet up, throw the tv on for the little ones and take of yourselves and those little growing beans.  Hang in there and I would most certainly call and make a push to be seen by the doctor, at least for a blood draw.  Peace of mind in a stressful situation can go a long way in helping you relax.  Here's to hoping the spotting stops soon, ladies!
