Monday bedrest check in

New week :-)

How did everyone sleep?

Milestones, updates, appts?

Qotd: anyone into couponing?

Re: Monday bedrest check in

  • Happy Monday :)

Who stold my sleep? I had the hardest time trying to fall to sleep. From feeling itchy to rapid heart rate to pain on my right rib. It was horrible. Finally around 1:30am I fell asleep with hourly bathroom breaks.. :-(

I had such a nice weekend.. I had visitors every day this weekend.. :)

Qotd: my sister use to love to coupon but I never got into it. I would love to try now that I see how much you really save.

  • Awe yay I'm glad you enjoyed your weekend! Kneenah. Visitors always make me happy!!!

I slept a few hours but I always get woken up when DH wakes up to go go to the gym. Then I can't sleep. Woke up to Sawyer kicking up a storm and hiccuping in there so that was cute :)

34 and 5 today. Dreaded peri apt tomorrow where we will be deciding our 'fate'. Last apt he had already told me to have my bags packed and everything ready before tomorrow - and that was before the pre e diagnosis. Sigh... I have my mom and a friend coming over today to 'get everything ready'

Qotd I started trying to coupon when I got put on bedrest , I got a binder and everything, but I always forget to bring them to the stores lol

  • Update: 32w 6d going home tomorrow! I slept ok. Kids kept waking me up. I am so sore all the time now. I have 9 lbs of baby inside me (I'm 5'3") and I am just hurting from all the growing.

QOTD: I tried to get into it, but I always forget coupons. I like how some stores are putting their coupons on their store apps. I always have my phone with me!

  • Slept fine last night, just took me a little while to fall back to sleep when hubby came home drunk!

Had an OB appt today, and my cervix is the same as it was last week, still short but closed, so that's good. My BP last week and this week was 140/70, which is very high for me- I need to take it at home when I'm resting, because I'm guessing it's just my body's way of reacting to being upright in the doctor's office when it's been horizontal for 10 days now.  My OB also confirmed that at this point (30W4D) if something did happen and baby stays head down, we can do a vaginal delivery, which is great- I thought we might need to get further to consider vaginal.

No real couponing for me, unless it's something for Kohls or Bed Bath and Beyond or those types of things!

  • Morning ladies!  I slept very well last night...I think I stole your sleep Kneenah, sorry!!  Still in the hospital but had my ultrasound this morning at the MFMs.  My cervix is holding at 1.7, I am hoping there is a chance I will go home today.  However, I do know this may be an unrealistic hope.  I ordered some crafts to start a project so I am not so bored.  I am going to make a wreath and attempt to crochet some booties for my BFF who is having her baby tomorrow!!

QOTD:  I want to learn how to coupon so bad but I find it so overwhelming and always give up.

  • Slept ok, was so itchy yesterday so took a Benadryl. I just finished packing my hospital bag because I have an appointment with my mfm at 3 and the last two times I went to the dr I got sent to the hospital. My fiancé try's his best to bring things I need but he forgets some things so this will be a a lot easier. I keep saying I'm gong to coupon but never do.
  • So I had a meltdown today.  I am so bored and just really wish I could be home today.  How do you girls get over this, what do you to keep busy?  I ordered some crafts to our house to try and learn to crochet and DH will bring them over later this week.  I cannot think of anything else and everytime I think of the fact that I could be here for another 4 weeks I lose it....HELP!

@smscartozzi - I'm sorry you are having a rough day today. We've all been there. I think I had a good cry every few days.

Stuff to do... I brought my Nook so I could read. I am also still working and that gives me new stuff to look at every day. How about card games on your phone? I'm a big fan of solitaire and Phase 10. I also did a lot of work on my baby registry. I do some online shopping, but only if I can find baby stuff at significant discount.

Ask your nurses. Most hospitals have DVD and book libraries.

I have GD so I spent a lot of time planning out my meals. Yes, exciting stuff. Also, I know that Sundays are weigh-ins, sonograms are Tuesday and Friday. Things to think about when I "plan" my day. Write down questions for your doctors.

Break down those four weeks. I use a countdown app on my phone.

Hang in there. Time gets weird in the hospital. The days are long. I created little routines (wake up, getting ready for bed) that helped me adjust. I also spend a lot of time justifying bed rest - for example, I've been alive for 483 months. I can give 2 months or .6% of my life to give my babies the best start possible. (Yes, I am old).

If it gets to be too much, tell your nurse. There are usually counseling services that can help you. And of course, this board is a great place to vent and get support.

    Happy Monday!

I actually slept well until around 5am when my back started feeling uncomfortable!  I count it as a win!

The hubs vacuumed out my car and put the carseat together yesterday and the pack n play/bassinet.  I think we are all ready now!

Had a great Dr appt earlier this morning!  Blood pressure was 130/80, so baby gets to stay a little longer!  Whoo Hoo!  I'm only 5 days from 37 weeks and I'm counting down the days to that milestone!

QOTD:  I love coupons.  I have a stack of them in the kitchen in my mail holder and before I go out for a shopping trip I always grab one I've saved, it seems like just about any big box store you can get a coupon for at least 20% off.  And it seems like I've had coupons for just about every baby thing we have purchased.  Thanks to Babies R US friends and family I saved 85$ on the rest of our registry stuff this weekend!

I also do Kroger's online coupons you add to your Kroger card and the ones they mail out, but I don't really seek out additional coupons.

  • Not a great day here.  Just got back from my MFM.  My cervix went from 2.9 to 0.4 since Monday.  My contractions have been under control so this is just the "chemicals" in my body starting labor.  I'm still only 22 weeks and 1 day.  I am adding Indocin to the Procardia in hopes that will stop the funneling.  I'm very scared and feeling like I cannot lose another daughter.  I lost my dear Shea just 10 months ago yesterday and absolutely cannot believe I am here again.  Please send good vibes and any success stories you have.  I will be reevaluated on Wednesday and hope for good news.  Thanks for listening.
  • So sorry Morgan.. Why don't you have a cerclage? Are you on 17p shots? Sorry if you've had told us all this in your intro but I speak to so many bumpies and get everyone's story all mixed up.
  • @morgandegan
I no longer feel bad about my day! I am so sorry you had a bad appt. I will be saying prayers for you for the next two weeks for sure! Can they give you progesterone? I dont know if its too late for that yet. Hopefully 24 weeks is a milestone you get to...that is a viable age right? Hang in there, we are all have our fingers crossed for you!

  • Thank you ladies.  I've been on 17P since 16 weeks.  I spoke with 2 different MFMs about a preventative cerclage and both advised against because my history indicates PTL caused by contractions.  They said if I had IC, it would be helpful, but I actually go into labor with contractions, so a cerclage would have to be removed to prevent cervical tearing.  Now the the contractions are under control I asked again about a rescue cerclage, but the cervix is so short, they worry about breaking my water or infection (which led to the demise of my previous daughter).  It's messy and I'm really hoping the indocin works.  I will get steriods at 23 weeks and hope I can at least hold out until 24 weeks.  One good thing is I am still not dilated.  Fingers crossed.  Thank you for the support :-)
  • thinking of you morgandegan!

  • Ask about a pessary. They were considering that when I was 25 weeks. Magnesium and Indocin really helped me. Saying prayers for you and baby girl.
